BEST door latch for cats I've ever purchased. I love it, my dog not so much.

I got this door stop after another, more expensive, one didn't work out. In contrast to my first purchase, this one was easy to install... is secure using only the adhesive strips... and is a breeze to use. No complaints!

Use it on my basement door so cats can get to their litter boxes and food but the dogs can’t

This item really is just what we needed. It’s easy to install and use, and gets rid of a gate into the room with the cat’s litter box. One hande-d opening and closing, barely noticeable on the door, and adjustable to accommodate the cat’s litter box but not the dogs.

I got this to keep my dog out of a spare bedroom where I intend to keep my cats food/water.The strap and plastics seem well made; however, the screws are so small that the (very proud) fur missile was able to rip them out with little to no effort. The adhesive is also not very sticky and fell right off even after cleaning the area as recommended. After replacing the provided screws with 2.5 inch deck screws, it seems to be holding in place. I’m concerned the side attached will come out as well, but for now it’s good.

This works really well, but if you have small dogs or cats, make sure you've placed it far enough apart that it can be made short enough. I suggest setting to the smallest size it will go, then figuring out where you want to place the ends. I just added mine, and the gap is not really small enough to keep the dogs out.

We have a very well behaved and smart llasapoo senior dog that has always liked kitty litter/box treats since we adopted him over a decade ago. We’ve tried everything from top entry litter boxes to gates to keep our boy out of his older sister’s litter box in the bathroom. But as our kitty got older, making the path easier for her was priority. We tried a makeshift version with latches but it didn’t hold well after 1-2 adjustments and was frankly, an eyesore on our bathroom door. Then our senior kitty also began using the full bath as its litter box despite no litter box. We tried keeping that door closed but with the bathroom humidity and guests, needed a more dependable and easier version for both bathrooms and guests who needed access. This economical two-pack answered our needs - very easy to install, adjust sizing and use. Having the same type for both doors is easier for new guests and looks much cleaner too. Our smaller senior cat adapted easily to accessing only one while her younger senior brother can’t squeeze through either one. We’ve had 0 issues for guests, including younger ones, using these in unlocking and locking doors.Update: After our senior kitty got her angel wings, we kept just one latch in use in the half bath with kitty litter box for consistency with our dog. We just adopted a 6 months old kitten who will likely be 2x as large as our previous senior kitty. But the deterrent still works to prevent our dog from entering and hopefully as kitty gets larger, we can adjust the straps and kitty will still be able to maneuver more easily in/out without it being wide enough for doggo to get in. Still highly recommend this product!
