A simple, effective solution for rainscreen ventilation behind wood, hardboard & fiber cement siding. Venting behind your siding is just as necessary and valuable as venting your attic. Trapped moisture from driving rain or condensation can cause major problems. Paint peels off, exterior sheathing gets wet, siding can warp and your house wrap becomes saturated. Sold in 4-feet long sections with 15 pcs. per carton (60 lin. feet). The ¾” thick SV-5 Rainscreen Siding Vent keeps insects out while allowing moisture to drain away and drying airflow to pass behind the siding. SV-5 pairs with treated ¾” thick wood furring strips, or use a double layer of Cor-A-Vent Sturdi-Strips for a perfect match.** ** In situations where exterior rigid foam insulation is being installed, Cor-A-Vent recommends using ¾” thick treated wood furring strips installed over the foam, screwed into the wall studs, to provide a structural fastening point for the siding, and the SV-5 Siding Vent installed at the top and bottom to supply the rainscreen drainage, airflow, and insect screen.

If you have seen this product used in Matt Risinger's videos you should notice that most of his applications used a strip that was about 1-1/2 inch wide, not three inches. So cut it in half lengthwise to double the amount you can use. Make sure you put the screened edge to the outside to keep out small bugs. Match the thickness of the Cor-a-vent to the thickness of the rainscreen furring strips.

I don't know of another product that does the same thing and rain screen feels like a must in a rainy windy coastal area.

Expensive but useful! I would recommend this product to anyone either updating exterior of house or building new.

I recently installed siding on a 3/4" rainscreen system. I needed to allow air and moisture flow through the bottom gap and to keep bugs out. I didn't expect this product to be so rigid and nailable, so I was delighted when we installed it. It meets all our requirements.

It’s corrugated plastic sign material with strips of landscaping fabric glued to it. I don’t feel like this stuff is worth the price they’re asking for it.
