Love these hooks! They do not snag, very smooth with all yarn I’ve tried so far. The grip is very comfortable when crocheting for long periods of time, I got no hand cramps while I was crocheting for 6 hours straight. I recommend these hooks to everyone, they are so easy to use. I replaced all my hooks with this brand

these work up smoothly and so well that I went ahead and ordered the set for the larger sizes as well. I think these feel much better than Prym and its less than half the cost.

Upcheck: Big fan of Bates hooks - the hook type I learned on decades ago. The comfort grip is a noticeable improvement and I'm glad I can get many sizes with it to fill out my collection.Downcheck: Chose this specific set (4/5/5.5/6/6.5) to fill gaps in my collection and because I was particularly looking for a 4mm for a project. For some reason, though, it came WITH a 4.5mm and WITHOUT a 4mm. Keeping it because, well - I still need a 4.5mm... but definitely disappointed to not get the 4mm I expected.1 star down for the weird hook, but otherwise happy - great price for the number, type, and size. Recommended!

These were recommended on a YouTube video and they are really nice. Not sure if the benefits of flat rather than rounded neck but for me they are good.

These Susan Bates crochet hooks have become my favorites. The handle is comfortable to hold for when I'm stitching for long periods. The tip of the hook is somewhat pointed and a bit narrower than other hooks which makes it easier to insert in between stitches and pull yarn overs. And since I've switched to these hooks, yarn splitting has been eliminated. Pictured is the waistband of a sweater I started.Like my sewing machine and other crafting tools & equipment, these crochet hooks are an investment in quality.

I’ve been crocheting for over 60 years and have used many brands and types of hooks. I prefer the deeper throat and in-line hook of the Susan Bates hook to the curved throat and rounded hook of others. The deeper notch in the throat helps my yarn stay on the hook. Also the Susan Bates hook is straight rather than tapered where the throat joins the handle. This helps keep my stitches even. This is the first set I have owned with a cushioned grip. It does make a difference with my arthritis. My collection of hooks includes hand-made wooden and bone handmade hooks predating the Civil War, but the Susan Bates hooks are still the easiest for me to use with yarn. (For thread, nothing beats my great-great grandmothers silver plated set.)
