not spring-loaded, so a bit cumbersome for the hand, works fine. Took too long to get here. Best tool for removing surgical staples.

These are for removing the "lovely" surgical staples that surgeons are so fond of using these days. Quite frankly I've found that the staples are sometimes more painful than the surgery itself! That said, I have used these removers in my previous life as an RN. That led me to think outside the box of staples . . . instead, I use them in jewelry making for making a very small controlled bend in wire. Most of the wire I use is smaller than skin staples so minimal pressure is needed. I'm keeping one package sterile in case I'm mugged & need to protect myself from "Jack the Stapler"!! Be aware that when these are delivered, they may or may not have plastic handles & finger holes. Most I've ever used are all metal without the finger holes. Personally I like that better since I can use them in a variable position which is not possible with finger holes like those pictured. It's helpful whether you're using them for the intended use or an "off label" use. Quality is pretty much standard across the industry as far as I can determine. Especially since most all tools like this are considered disposable.
