No instructions on fitting the blades. Figured it out pretty fast but it's a bit dangerous to have to fiddle around. I bought these because e-xacto raised the replacement blade price for a box of 100 #11 blades to an unreasonable price. I'm using these blades for model building and crafting hopefully they will be up to that use .

I purchased this kind of by mistake. I mean I bought it on purpose, but since I'm not a surgeon or surgical tech, I was not familiar with the sizes of blades and differences in similar numbers. I would suggest you look up the number of the blade you are interested in and find a chart or picture that shows them side by side. It was a low enough price that I don't feel robbed. There are many blades so if you do any kind of wood working, leather works or other craft type work you will probably find a use for the blades. But these are small. Like smaller than any exacto blade I've used in the past. I thought this would be a different style blade to fit the foldable scalpel i got. It is small but great fo little odd things. Since the blades are so sharp they will not last long when used around the house or for hobby or bushcraft tasks. I thought i was getting a big refill for my folder but i was mistaken. So for the blades alone 4 or 5 stars. The handle I think is sub par. The shaft the blade slides onto is warped/bent, and slightly out of shape. This makes it difficult to slide a blade on or off. Since these are essentially razor blades, the likelihood of cutting yourself is moderate so exercise due caution. The handle seems durable enough, it's is just cheaply made with not enough attention to detail. Only 2 syars for the handle. But again, for 100 blades the price was fair enough.

Just wanted something easy to carve with on my pottery projects, these work great. Sharp blades to scrape and carve at dried paint to sharpen designs. The blade fits the handle just fine, I use a very similar one at work for detailed jobs. A pair of needle nose or duck bill pilers make changing the blades a breeze.

I have purchased these several times and have never been disappointed. I use the scalpel as a hobby knife and recommend it to anyone looking for a good hobby knife. The handle being flat prevents it from rolling around and is also lightweight. The blades are easy to change. The cost also makes changing blades often less expensive than exacto blades

Aside from the traditional use of this item, I use it a lot in place of regular blades and Xactos for cutting.Great for cutting paper, foam, etc. If you are designer or crafty person, I recommend using these since they are cheaper than replacing Xacto blades over and over.Nice and sharp (which they should be). The #11 pointed tip is really useful for fine line work and to piece through material.I do recommend getting a more comfortable grip.

I thought I was getting some sort of half-sharp Chinese stuff, but these arrived extremely sharp and, though the sterilization claims seemed dubious for $7, they all arrived in a very professional looking box in durable individual packages. The box says the company is headquartered in Miami Lakes. My doubts began to fade. I still can't guarantee anything about these 100% of course, but as someone who wasn't expecting much, and buying the cheapest blades on the market for light hobby finishing work for 3D printing, I was completely blown away. The only downside is that the "free handle" was a little gunky. I don't know why but it definitely is not what I would call sterile. There was something that looked like rust in the finger grip. I suppose anybody in the medical field wouldn't be buying this for the handle anyways. If you want something sharper, cheaper, and with a little more blade flex than Xacto, this is the way to go!

These are versatile and extremely sharp. I use them primarily to cut small vents in insect bait holders but have also used them for general cutting and carving. The blades need replacing fairly often because they dull easily, but I believe that they are not to be used for such rugged work as I am using them for. The blades attach to the handle without a lot of trouble, but one must be very careful not to cut oneself. I recommend having some kind of leather "pouch" to keep the blade safely out of the way in storage. I was confused by the designation #11 since I am not a surgeon nor have a medical background, but this size is ideal for intricate cuts and the blades do not bend easily. There are countless uses for this item. In my workshop I keep finding more and more ways to put the blades to work for me.

I got to use one of these for it's intended purpose. My wife got a sand grain sized piece of glass stuck in her foot, under the skin. Blades were already sterile so I was able to put one on and immediately go to work. I used the needle sharp tip to carefully pry back the skin around the puncture wound until I exposed the glass on the inside under the skin and it just fell out onto the blade. Tweezers weren't working and a sewing needle would have been too difficult for such precise work.Using with a self healing cutting board for making airbrush stencils they work great. A few of the blades have been broken out of the box, and the handle, a #3 doesn't really let the blades clip on all the way as far as I'd like but none have come off yet. The blades themselves are more than sharp enough for hobby use, and external medicine like splinters, removing corns and calluses, although curved finger blades are more precise for excising dead skin. For the price this can't be beat. Sharper than Xacto blades and cheaper. Add up how much 100 xacto blades would cost you...
