I should have looked closer. This leash has only a swivel on one end. It will get twisted. Also it is a smaller diameter cord. On some boards, a smaller diameter cord will cut through your board like a knife. I didn't know they still make leashes with these flaws.

With name brand surfboard leashes ranging from $30 - $70, I was game to try a leash from Amazon. The saying "you get what you pay for" it true for this leash. While the price is enticing at a whopping $10, the quality of the leash is questionable. I'm hesitant to test this leash out in the water for a few reasons. There is a swivel for the cord by the ankle, but there is no swivel at the bottom of the leash by the board attachment. This will cause the leash to tangle. There is no velcro attachment on the end of the leash to attach it to the board, only a string. I remove my leash after every surf session. This will make it difficult and time consuming to put on and take off every time I surf. The cord itself feels pretty thin at 5mm. The current leash I use it 6mm. Under rough conditions, I would be worried about the cord snapping. (which has happened to me before)The ankle cuff is large enough that I can fit it around my calf. The velcro feels secure and the padding is pretty comfortable. This would be good for mellow water activities, like standup paddle boarding or kayaking. I wouldn't recommend this for any rough water activities.

The leash works ok, but it tend to tangle because there is no swivel at the base of the leash, only where it connects at the ankle.Cheap alternative for your foamie on smaller days. I wouldn't wear this leash if it was a serious surf sesh
