Product Description

Koraloc

Koraloc developed the surfboard carrying backpack designed specifically for walking, biking, skating, and paddling to the surf. Making the journey part of your journey. Because what is getting to the surf if not a pilgrimage? We’ve even taken our name from kora, the Tibetan word for pilgrimage, defined as “an arduous journey to a sacred place.” And there are plenty of those in surfing, both at home and abroad. Chasing the sun and a south swell down the trail to Lower Trestles, with its mile and a half of pavement, dirt road, and cobblestones; the long, hot walk through Florida sea oats and burning sand on the way to Spanish House tubes; pedaling down the Ke Iki bike path on Oahu’s North Shore, between Sunset and Off the Wall. There are plenty of sacred surfing places that, even though they’re right off the road, you can’t drive to. The walk through the Brussel sprouts to Four Mile; the trek down the cliff to Blacks; climbing the dunes in the Outer Banks; these are some of the pilgrimages surfers make on a daily basis, reasserting their devotion with every step. At Koraloc we’ve developed more than just a surfboard carrying backpack that allows you to do all of this efficiently, but a philosophy based on the premise that how you get there is almost as important as why you get there. This rings true whether you live six blocks from the beach or are trekking six miles along the coast on your way to a Nicaraguan secret spot. With a Koraloc board bag the ride doesn’t begin in the water, but it begins the moment you pick up your surfboard and make your way to the sea.

Been looking for a way to transport my 8’ foamie on my eScooter for awhile and this is perfect. Easy to walk with, easy to put together, and plenty of space for available in the bag.

Super impressed at how well thought out and built construction this bag is made. The material, zippers to the padding is quality. The included accessories (dry bag, nose and fin straps) even stickers to go all over your rack.Locally designed in San Clemente, where I often walk down the trails to surf. This bag is going to be awesome hauling my quiver down to the sandys.Might seem a little costly but I feel it’s totally worth it. It’s save having to clumsily carry my boards back up the trail after a TIRED epic day.Note: Don’t throw away plastic wrap before scanning the QR code, the founder walks you through total setup and how to use. Very very useful video!!Nice job! Support local brands!

Here’s me with a 6’5” board, I’m 5’5” (female). I’ve also loaded up a big 1970s heavy glassed 7’5” board and taken it for about a half mile walk to the beach. It was much easier than carrying the board, that’s for sure. But also my back was sore after that. I haven’t been brave enough to try this on a bicycle yet, and would definitely bring a smaller board for that (Also I’m not confident enough on a skateboard for that option, but I know a lot of people are). The backpack itself is really well designed, and it’s fairly easy to load and unload the board. I was impressed with the quality and design. I will definitely take this back pack on all my future surf trips, because you never know where you might end up wanting to surf... but for someone my size I would not take a board larger than 6’5” on any long hikes greater than a mile or so or on steep terrain. Actually I might have to get myself a shorter (but wider/more volume) board so I can take full advantage of this backpack!!

Seems pretty good. I do have one gripe and that’s that the Velcro straps on the changing mat are to short to go around my board which is 22.5” wide. In my opinion they could make them a couple of inches longer on each side.Jimmy

My bag finally came today. Super stoked. Thanks to Koraloc. I had to keep a back pack that had my gopro stuff, fins, wax, tools, rash guards etc.then carry a wet/dry bag and no way of carrying 2 boards so this eliminated all of that and able to skate from spot to spot with my hands free. I highly recommend anyone getting this.🤙🏄
