FINs snap into the Surf Adapter's truck holding Pivot arm. They effectively change the angle that the arm rotates on, and in turn change the way that the wheels move as you press on your rails. This is what gives you a totally new feeling.

It works great. Turn my 48 inches longboard to a surfskate board. Easy installation. Lots of fun. Love it. It is a little taller but it helps to avoid wheel bites.

Then you can pump effortlessly. Plus has adjustable plate that can alter the settings for deep carve or better pump!

mounted on a 46 inch twin tip with indy 169mm trucks and 75mm Kyptonic wheels I use it for land kite foiling. It is easy to adjust with the fin system although I did put in a harder durometer to the front pivot as I dont need it to be too reactive. I have Carver C7s, Yow and Gullwing sidewinders in my kit but this Waterboune system is the best. My advise to anyone wanting to try skate surfing is to get the fin system with the rail adapter for the rear, mount a good quality standard truck (not RKP) and cruise or carve away.

Background: newish to longboarding (or skateboarding). Wanted to try surfskating without spending too much if I didn't like it.Easy to install, loved the packaging and instructions that's on the box.Chose this after reading many reviews and comparison; ideal for having existing boards. I like how its easy to maintain, having less parts that can go wrong.Worked beautifully - loved it. Product appears solid and I don't anticipate any major issues with its build.What I didn't like - both units started squeaking pretty quickly after initially use. But seems to be a common problem with all new trucks I've had. However the instruction from Waterborne didn't work (spraying lube into the areas), I had to instead take it apart careful and lube the bushing area directly. Very minor issue for and otherwise excellent product that I have recommended to others; doesn't detract from my rating of it!Liked it so much I bought a second one - the first one is for my electric-converted board (revel kit), which brought it back to being the carvy board I loved (but without the extreme surfskate dive); and the second one to be a dedicated surfskate.

If you dont have a surfskate board or surfskate trucks and you want to pump or have a surflike feeling get these. They are amazing, just started longboarding at 36yo (havent step foot on a skateboard in over 25 years) five days ago and i had a hard time pumping on a freeride board with gullwing trucks. My fault since the board wasnt really designed for it. These things made pumping much easier for me, the turns are real sharp and you can feel the carve. Its fun as hell and as they advertise works on a lot of board setups.Im using a sector9 faultline perch, installing the rear required flipping part of the adapter to fit and i had to use a soft mallet to knock the plate back into place. The front adapter required a little more improvisation because of the trucks the outside spacer was a real tight squeeze. Also couldnt use the provided washer for the same reason. I ended up using a flat washer and cutting part of it with a dremmel to make it fit.For the price, they are kinda pricey for someone frugal like me, but damn they are worth it. Great work out too.Edit: just to point out, not sure if it was just me but there were no install instructions. Had to youtube it. Would be nice if install instructions are included if not already.Also the square bushing squeaks like heck. I used bicycle grease around the bushing to see if it would help only to realize the squeaking is from where the bushing is seated. The bushing is seated so tightly i cannot remove it without potentially damaging it. Since its so new ill just have to deal with it. Praying the drops of lube i added seaps into the creavace and reduces squeaking over time.Update: squeaking is almost completely gone. If you have really tight square bushing just put a few drops of bearing lube in the creavace where the bushing sits.

I have Drop Through Longboard brand Atom that I bought from Amazon. I thought It's perfect for carving.Then I made a leap of faith getting this Waterborne adaptor after watching YouTube clips. And this thing is so amazing. Just get it. Don't ask why. I almost spend another $250 on Surf skate, this adapter saves me money.Pro-Easy Installation.-High quality front (surf adapter)-Screws and nuts provided.-Carving on longboard much more easy.-Sharp turn even much more.-On flat surface you don't have to push, it runs by itself when you move your ankle up and down.-It works like Ripstick with balance of 4 wheels that you don't have to touch the ground.-It feels more smoothly on uneven ground with small holes, small bumps, (analogy: feels like the luxury car suspension).Cons:-Plastic Rail (back) Adapter. Not the same as the one in their website as of 2020 Jan. it looks cheap.-Speed will slow down a bit due to the attachment raising your board from the ground.-It makes the board heavier so it will be harder to do kick flip trick etc.Overall, BIG POSITIVE. I sacrifice the "trick-ability" for comfort mobility.Must Have if you are more into carving zig zag moves etc.NOTE: If you have a skateboard, highly recommended to get the Rail adapter to increase turn ratio. But if you have a longboard, you don't have to get the rail adapter, since longboard truck is flexible enough for you to just twisting your hip to move the longboard without the need for your foot to step down on the ground to push and move forward.
