I ordered (2) of the Suprus rechargeable arc lighters and could not be happier. After plugging both in, they achieved full charge in about 20 minutes, and I tested both out by using to light our gas grill. Both worked just as good as the flame type lighters. I will be using one for the home gas BBQ grill, and the other will be used for lighting the camping. No more worry about running out of gas and having to throw away, or the wind blowing out the flame. I love the reach this arc lighter has, a good 7 inches from the thumb button to engage the arc and the tip. The snake neck is an added bonus which should work great for lighting campfires, camp propane stove, and charcoal chimneys.

Charge quickly and work really well for lighting candles -- will see how long the charge lasts.

This is the absolute best lighter. It serves every purpose, from deep wick candles to lighting the grill.

If your tires of your lighters running out of fluid or failing to spark a flame, this tool is for you. Wind would always blow out my lighter when trying to start the BBQ on a breezy day, this thing arcs no problem and lights the cue easily. Had to get used to the way it lights a candle but works just fine. Can't tell of battery life but I have used it 10 times and is still on a full charge.

You CAN light candles without burning yourself. The shape of this “match” makes it easy to light wicks that are down low inside a jar. I will also use it to light my charcoal grille. Very easy to use and safer than a match.

This little tool is so much better then a lighter and the charge lasts a long time.

This lighter is very well made. It has a slider that protects the lighting button from being pushed accidentally which is nice. I was skeptical about it lighting a candle wick, but the arc jaws easily fit around a normal candle wick and lights it quickly. It would be a little more awkward with a thick wick but still doable. It starts with four lights lit up with a full battery and slowly drops to 3, 2,1 after a few dozen lights and then it is fully depleted. I haven't counted how many times you can light a wick with a full charged battery, but it is less than advertised. But when it gets down to 1 or 2 lights it is easy to plug in to any USB power adapter with the provided cord and recharge it.

Full disclosure: I burn candles often. The SURPRUS Candle Lighter works great. I've been using it for over a month now with no troubles. I find it far more convenient than lighters and matches because the long flexible torch easily reaches the wick, saving my thumb the occasional burn from lighter flame. The user ought to note that it will need a charge after 5-7 uses. Sometimes it is hard to see the wick end, requiring burn energy for several seconds - and the more time until contact, the more the battery wears down. -But this is not the fault of the unit, it just comes down to aim and hand steadiness at the wick. Since I have C-chargers all over the place, charging is no problem at all. It only takes 30 minutes to an hour, and then it's good for another series of 5-7 uses.

I got this as a gift for my father, and he was excited to use it. He liked that it was a gooseneck that can easily bend to light at any needed angle. The downsides are the poor ignition switch design and the arc ignition system. After just a few uses, the on switch started to erratically work. At first, we thought it was already dead, but the issue persisted after several hours of charging. We eventually figured out that the button has to be pressed in a very particular way to turn on the lighter. Unfortunately, even when it did turn on reliably, it just wasn't a great lighter. Unlike some other lighters which use two arcs in an "x" pattern, this one only uses a single arc that goes in a single line "-". This makes it much harder to light something small, like a candle wick, and can be a bit like trying to thread a needle. This lighter suffers from a lack of good design, and I wish it worked better!
