I use these types of thermometers to check car HVAC systems, and they work great. So far they hold up well, and every time I've checked it's been accurate.

Great thermometer! Quality feels nice, great size, great price. I use it in the air vents on my car to monitor A/C and heat temps through the vents. This delivers!

I was looking for two 'meat thermometers' to install in my AC system inlet and evaporator duct boxes. These thermometers do that job nicely. But, the dial is pretty tiny, with a lot of tiny lines to try to see, which makes getting granular readings on the temperatures challenging. I'm thinking a black face dial with white graduations might have been better, or a bigger dial. The glare on the white face makes it challenging to read. However, for my application - looking to see how many degrees my system is cooling - these work and were worth the money. Order fulfillment was flawless as usual from Amazon.

I ordered a two-pack of these, and both are consistent when tested with ice water (32F) and when left in the car on a hot, sunny day (100-120F), they both read the same and compared to various other thermometers these read right where they should. Nice, big dial, easy to read. The only thing I wish was different was that they had finer graduations of two degrees instead of the four degrees that they have. That's just my OCD coming through though.Consistent readings and well-made.

As the title states, I use these in my home duct work to keep an eye on temps. One at the discharge of the coil and one in a vent farthest from the unit. I really like the 1 3/4" dial, much easier to read. Please verify at least the zero when you get one of these. As illustrated in the pictures, one of the two was off when I took it out of the package, but is super easy to calibrate with a 10mm or adjustable wrench. I can't verify the span since they don't read up to 212 degrees. That's ok because I use them below 60 degrees. If you don't know, a large cup packed with ice (crushed works great) and water will give you close enough to zero degrees C (32 F) to accurately calibrate.I really like them so far, much easier to read than the 1" versions.
