Wrapped my down pipes to hold the heat in and it works. Would recommend buying extra metal ties.

You have to buy a black silicone paint to color the black header wrap or else it turns White. That means you have to tape everything off and paint... Not to mention you're supposed to wet it before you apply the wrap. Now you're wetting, drying, masking and painting... It does look okay when you're done. Next time I will just get the regular tan colored header wrap.

Wrapped up my bikes exhaust pipes. Looks good, wasn't hard to do. Be sure to wear gloves and long sleeves. Fiberglass picks and itches.

A customer wanted to give his truck a different look, header wrap on the rock sliders (don’t worry, this truck won’t go off roading). All the negative reviews are from people who don’t know how to use the wrap. First thing, get a bucket of water, leave the wrap rolled up and drop it in the bucket for at least 30 minutes. This helps keep the glass dust down as well as makes it more flexible. When applying the wrap, it helps to have the item you’re wrapping in a stable vise or mounted to something solid (not the vehicle). When wrapping, overlap no less than 1/2 inch and keep it pulled tight!I used black stainless screw clamps to secure the wrap on my application, but the ties they provide would also work.Once the wrap is dry, heat treat it, I use a torch, it helps burn off the ends of the glass, as well as makes it more resistant to the elements.I also bought the spray to treat it to help maintain the color as well as protect the wrap (remember these won’t get hot, and are exposed to the elements). If you take your time, go through the websites to learn how to use this product, you’ll see that it’s a solid product.Lastly, make sure you’re wearing gloves and other protective gear if you don’t want to be itchy for a couple of days.
