The first thing you notice about this panel is the sturdy fiberglass like panel that the cells are mounted on. More about the ruggedness in a moment. It comes with 3 different connection options, male cigarette lighter plug, auto battery clips and screw terminals. The interconnection between the 8’ cable and the different connection options is a polarized male-female connector that makes it impossible to get the polarity wrong. Another nice feature is that the charge controller is built into the back of the panel. This is a simple-to-use solar panel. It comes with a pair of carabiner clips for hanging the panel and a set of four suction cups. I was thinking that I could use the suction cups and stick the panel to inside of the windshield of my truck but the instructions warned against it due to the heat of the car interior. The next best thing is to stick it to the outside but the suction charge controller case is too thick to allow all four corners to be mounted. You can only stick two corners down, so I did and left it on my truck for the day. The wind picked up and pulled the panel right off the windshield and blew it to the ground. It took a pretty good fall and dinged up a corner but other than that, the panel was unharmed thanks to the tough material that the panel is made of. I’m going to have to fabricate some sort of spacers to allow all four corners to be applied to the windshield.

I'm impressed with the quality level, construction, and function of this battery charger/maintainer. I see a number of applications for it. I've charged small 6 and 10 AH lithium batteries I use for portable lighting and topped off the two big marine batteries in the boat. The panel is sturdy enough not to require pampering when handling or locating it.The three sets of output leads are very handy, and the SAE/Zamp connector on the panel leads offer a fourth option for connecting to a load. I'll be able to connect the panel to the boat batteries with the clamps and to the camper via either the cigarette light port or the external SAE/Zamp connector on the battery box. I suspect that I'll end up purchasing a second unit rather than swapping the solar panel back and forth between the two.Though at 20 Watts it's oversized for the application, this unit can also be used for charging one of my trail cameras. An 8-Watt solar panel is doing the job in winter when there are no leaves on the trees. This larger panel should be able to carry the load when the tree canopy is fully leafed out later this spring.I use a small lithium battery for charging phones and lights when camping off the grid. This panel is light enough to carry along to recharge the battery each day.

The 20 Watt SUNAPEX panel is basically a Solar powered battery tender. This monocrystalline panel with built in charge controller can easily maintain 12V batteries in all kinds of vehicles and outdoor electronics. Winter is especially tough on car batteries. I use it for infrequently driven vehicles parked outside in the elements. It attaches right through the cigarette lighter and is easy to move from car to car. The Panel also comes with permanent, and alligator clip style connectors, so it’s just as easy to use on golf carts, snowmobiles, motorcycles, tractors, or boats. The controller has Three LED indicators to monitor sun brightness, battery charging, and battery full conditions, guarding against Overcharging and parasitic battery drain. So far this winter our lead acid batteries have been kept in a fully topped off state.

Utilizing this in the work van as I routinely have the doors open for a long time and end up draining my battery with the interior work lights on. This charger works well enough to offset enough of the drain that I don't have a dead battery when I go to leave at the end of the day. A tad on the bulky side, it does include all the necessary adapters to plug it into a power socket, connect it to the battery via clamps, or connect it to the battery via terminals on the battery itself. If you are looking for a high powered solar panel to get a quick charge for some storage batteries, this is not your guy - however for smaller batteries or storage applications, this is a great choice.

Built in charge controller, simple, long enough cord to get it under the hood, and it appears to be keeping the car battery topped off without issue.I just tilted it back up against the windshield which faces the sun during the day, and with the reflective material inside it's inundaded rays. Can connect 3 ways to charge a battery. Cigarette lighter, battery lugs or the alligator clamps. Until we're comfortable with its longevity we'll just use the clamps for now and see how well it holds up in the Florida sun.

Works for what I intended it for. I know the new thing is those Li-ion solar batteries and yes I have 2 of those. What I also had before that was a thing was an old school marine battery for my electrical backup. I’ve used y battery for camping before but had no way of charging it up until I got back home. Now, I don’t have to worry so much. This solar panel charges at 12.5-8 volts in full sun. I was able to top off my marine battery in a few hours. I do live in Hawaii so our sun is pretty superior so depending on where you live YMMV. Totally love the the two connection types. I’ll probably use the alligator clips most of the time as my car’s cigarette lighter doesn’t work when the ignition is off. Besides, I’ll mostly use it for my stand alone marine battery. I’m definitely ready for the next big blackout! woo hoo!

If you’re looking for a panel to maintain a bigger battery or for recharging a smaller battery. The specs on this panel are pretty good and the mounting options are a bonus. I’ll be mounting this in a window with the suction cups. You get a few connection options? But I wish they included ip67 connectors or an adapter. I’ll be using this with a small battery for an intermittent low amp load. The included BMS works well from what I can tell from my limited testing thus far. I’m going to test a few uses and if I run into any difficulties I’ll make sure to update.
