I'm very pleased with how much room my 14", 20lb Parson Russell has in the XL Sturdibag! He likes the bag and went into it without any bribery to have a nap. Hopefully we'll be able to fly in cabin with him; I'm planning to modify the bag somewhat so I can shorten it and cinch it down to a smaller size for check in.Will report back after our flights in the fall of 2025. Wish us luck!

So far, I am very pleased with this product, it seems very sturdy and thoughtfully designed. I will update this if I run into any problems, but I am not expecting any.My last two carriers had to be thrown out because they were less carefully made. One could not be properly cleaned, and had to be thrown out after an accident. The other broke by having a rod stick out - luckily it stuck out at me, but it could have just as easily stuck into the carrier without me noticing, which could have been uncomfortable or dangerous for my cat.This one appears to have solved both problems. It can be machine washed, so it should survive an accident. And the denier material is very sturdy, and carefully reinforced. Additionally, the rods providing structure are all tucked into seams on the outside - if a seam ever fails (which seems unlikely in normal use) the rods will poke outside the carrier, it seems impossible for it to be poking my pet without me knowing.I am impressed by the extra room available when the top is collapsed to fit under a plane seat, that was very cleverly done. The very study and removable base means it’s unlikely to tip, but still washable. I like the option to expose the mesh or cover it - the mesh is important if it’s hot, but my cat is calmest when her view is obscured. The mechanism for locking the zippers is easy to use and secure.My small complaints: I would prefer a less plush insert, so there’s more vertical space. I wish the Velcro attachment on the bottom for the insert used the soft side, so I could choose to remove the padded base, but that’s easy to replace. I also prefer one over body strap to the two strap system they used, but I cut apart the two straps easily.I’m really happy with this. I don’t mind spending a more for a product that will last longer, and I think that’s exactly what this is.My cat seems pleased with it, and got in to relax with no coaxing.

I have 2 large male cats about 18lbs each. I purchased the L & the XL. If you have 2 smaller cats the L may work for you, my cats fit in the L but they had no space to move around, it was very uncomfortable for them.The XL is incredibly spacious with enough room for them to lay down and move around. There’s ventilation on all sides, a top zipper for them to stick their heads out, zipper locks, adjustable grips and more. The best feature are the removable rods across the bag. You can slide them out making the bag collapsible and adjustable.I travelled one way out of FLL with spirit airlines. I purchased the big and comfy seat up front. Be sure not to purchase the first row as there’s no seat to put the bag under in front of you. I had priority check in & boarding so it was a breeze security was super helpful and they offered a private room.I had zero issues boarding the plane, no push back, they didn’t bat an eye. The bag easily fit in the seat in front of me and the flight attendants did not say a word to me.The dimensions of the XL are larger than spirit airlines policy but not at any point was the bag measured or inspected at boarding.The cats are comfy and cozy. I had the bag laying around the apartment for a couple weeks before the flight for them to get comfortable and used to it. I would put them in and close it from time to time and walk around with them in the bag to get them used to it. And once the suitcase was out I would put them in the bag and on top of the suitcase and roll them around to get them used to the sensation. It’s there first trip and they are doing incredibly well I could go on and on.I’m so happy with my experience and am glad I invested in a Sturdibag.

I am going to use it for transatlantic air travel with my cat. This pet carrier is so well designed with attention to a very tiny things. Quality of material used, unique concept of design with flexible rod-based frame accommodating to available space, hard and super light floor cover with soft pad, openings for venting - everything is superb. I have checked several other products available on the market and this one is just perfect for any travel, especially for air travel. I am highly recommending this product, just select the right size for your precious friend.

I was looking for a carrier that can fit under the seat on the plane. I bought other brand earlier where the side expands to give more space, but then it was pretty stiff and felt I cannot squeeze that in although it said it will in the description.This one is really flexible and can squeeze down easily, but then it gives plenty of room inside. My pup is 33cm shoulder to toe when standing up (5.4kg), and she can easily stand and turn around inside this X-Large size . It does look pretty big, so am not sure what the impression the airline company will have. The size is not so different from XL to Large, so I might try buying the Large and give this one away. Overall I am satisfied with the product.
