These are made of thick, galvanized metal so they are very sturdy. Because of their simplicity there isn't much for me to comment on, except to say I feel completely confident in their ability to do what they are intended to do -- reinforce studs that have been drilled out for pipes to pass through. They don't come with fasteners, but they can be attached with nails or screws. There are pre-drilled holes for the fasteners, and they are positioned so that they will hold the shoes securely in place. I think codes inspectors would have no issues at all with approving these in situations where stud shoes are required.

To some these seem unnecessary. However in my last build the drywallers hit our plumbing and it was catastrophic. I highly recommend using these to protect yourself from issues like this. They are very easy to install, it just takes a few moments and you will never have to worry. They seem very durable

Stud shoes restore the strength of studs that were weakened when plumber bored too much wood when installing ABS pipes. However, city inspectors might be resistant this notion, preferring installing wider wood which allows for large boring. But if 2 x 4's reinforced by stud shoes will do the trick, why not? if loss of floor space, no matter how minute, can be prevented by incorporating such devices, why not?

Placed our home to code with these. We had our previous home owner place studs and we couldn’t get the CO without using these. We placed these and foxed the area up and now we have our CO. It is very easy to use and protects the area and is Saturday and strong.

The sizing is as should be and it is pretty good and easy to use. It fits our studs perfectly and gives a nice look as well. It is code compliant and it comes with 4 of them it is heavy-duty and strong.

I recently ran a sub panel with 1.25 EMT through 3 studs of a 2X4 load bearing wall. This was close to the limit on a structural stud hole and I wasn't confident in taking this much material off 3 consecutive studs and was looking for a solution.These stud shoes are fairly thick and substantial... more so than a steel stud or most hurricane straps. These have staggered nail/structural screw holes, so you won't be running into hardware installed on the opposite side of the stud.I installed 3 of these with 1.5" structural screws in about 5 minutes. I'm now much more comfortable closing the wall up without worrying about anything settling. Not really necessary with EMt, but these will also act as a nail plate for one side of the stud. Very happy with these.
