I bought these simply for the v-groove to clamp on pipe. Little did I know how much I would love the spin lever tightener. No more turn dial and squeeze and winds up being too loose. Do again. Now to tight or it’s a bear to close. I will find more like these and order more styles now.

These are smaller than they look but lightweight and easy to use. I am using the to wrap samurai sword handles (called tsuka) with lacing (called ito). I use the clamp to hold the ito onto the tsuka while I flip it over to work on the other side. They make a similar tool in Japan just for this task, but they will not let you buy one unless you are a member of the sword making groups there. Well, with this tool, I don't need theirs. As for using it on pipes or wood, it would work great. It's one of the best clamps of its kind that I own and I own a lot of different ones. You can't go wrong with this unless you need a really big clamp.

Needed a tool to clamp a 1 1/4 inch pipe and this was perfect for the job. Not only that but the company very responsive to a small issue I had with the tool. Great product.
