It is not very best brand of paper, but it looks ok. I like the texture, it is 140 lb paper. YES the card is blank so we can create our own cards.Nice envelopes.The card will fit in a 5 by 7 frame. This pack of cards is Strathmore's 300 Series I see no difference between it and the 400 series pack. The company gives the differences between the series. I have painted on 400 so far and it is ok. When I try 300 I will edit my post again.

I use these cards with watercolour paints and they are my favourite. They are sturdy, the paint absorbs well and they look great.

I had no need for a large amount of cards to paint. I am an artist and sometimes I like doing my own artwork on cards for friends and relatives. Strathmore is a good brand and I feel these cards are quality paper.

I have used the Strathmore 400 series and read that the 300 series is the same. It is not. It does not let you blend your watercolors as well and easily marks. The quality is not the same with poorer results.

I like to make my own greeting cards. I use watercolors, gouache and pens. The paper takes all of them well. A medium wash can be used as this paper will not bleed through. These are the cards that I like to buy for my artwork.
