This tablet is just the right size for my life drawing classes, large enough to give me space for drawing freedom and small enough to make it a adult portable for transit to and from class.

I only bought this for my art class because I needed it in a pinch. I would never pay $25 for 50 sheets of cartridge paper again, and will shop early next year.

Strathmore is a great paper company and they have a great site which I have just found out. Have a look there it is interesting. This rough paper is great to draw with. Big dimension: 18x 24 " pad and great price for 50 Sheets . Famous brand, great price and highly recommended. I advice to take differnt pads from diffrent company with diffrent weight depending on what you want to do so you can judge by yourself. Each paper has its pro and effects of texture after all.

Honestly, how can a pad of newsprint be bad in any way other than bent in shipping? My newsprint arrived perfect and flat, it's exactly what it says it is. I got it for my toddler to draw on since he is into drawing now. This is still the same product I grew up drawing on in art classes, figure drawing, sketching, etc. It's good stuff, just not ideal for saving long term...as far as I know, newsprint is an unstable paper meant for building drawing skill or making a quick record of a subject to be translated into a more permanent medium at a later time. Basically it's not heirloom quality stuff, so don't do your best work on it.
