I used this to stiffen the brim of a witch hat on my Halloween costume. The hat went from floppy to having just the right amount of shape. Horsehair braid is also great for full skirts - I used it for a renaissance fair skirt. Great quality horsehair braid.

History bounding sewists! This horsehair is amazing! It's structure is pretty stiff which will give your garments hem full support... while also providing a swish and sway that cannot be beaten. It's soft to the touch and not abrasive to the skin... but holds a garments hem like I dream. Very easy to use.

Lovely colour. Size as described. Perfect if you are using a similar coloured fabric as it blends right in. Perfect for getting large waves in large skirts. Adds a lot of support. Easy to attach with a simple cross stitch.

This is an impressive package of substantial ribbon when it arrives. I chose 2 inch wide in the Dark Pink shade. The colour isn't perhaps dark pink - more like bright pink - but it is very lovely.The ribbon itself is not made from horsehair but polyester - but does have something of the same stretchy, mouldable quality of horsehair ribbon. It is something like petticoat net.It retains its shape well and would be good for decorating something like a hat. It certainly makes a very glamorous bow on a present - though it is quite tricky to tie firmly as it has a lot of spring.Just under £14 (at time of review) seems a good price for 50 yards.
