Ideal as a back-up while on long rappels, we constructed our AutoBlock from a durable 6 mm cord sewn into a 13.5-inch loop. The AutoBlock attaches from the harness to the brake-hand end of the rappel rope just below the rappel device and works as a prusik or Klemheist knot.

This is an excellent product and I would definitely buy again. Makes an excellent auto block and works great.

Maybe it works too well? Wrapped the rope the standard way, clipped it to my carabiner and started my descent but couldn't. There was too much friction, so I had to reset with one less wrap. This is likely because the cord is new but in general, this prusik worked great and was very secure and safe. Very well made.If I could find anything to improve upon, it would be where the cord is stitched to itself. The stitched area and the protection sleeve is a little too long, creating a long section that needs to be kept out of the rope and carabiner (it is very stiff). However, it had no affect on the operation or safety of the prusik.I highly recommend this prusik, third hand, autoblock cord.

Was delivered before expected, arrived as stated, and is very strong and sturdy. I will be using this on a 10.5mm static rappelling rope as my backup.

It's a great autoblock, but is pretty short, especially for double rope rappelling. I've found that for a double rope rappel on a 9.8mm rope, you can only really use this as a prusik, it's too short to make an autoblock or kleimheist. I'll keep it as a backup, but I plan to buy a longer one.

Great little auto block. I actually bought a pair of these at the same time. Are use one of them As a Prussik for positioning on a Positioning lanyard for work. You can also use these for a progress capture on a Z pull. I can get about five passes through it self on a 11 mm rope for a prussik.

Best autoblock ever. Hollow cord really grips when tension applied. Just push not and easily released. For experienced rappellers only or use under experienced supervision. Incorrect use orgetting this caught in your rappell device will require advanced skills to untangle which could be deadly.I climb in my backyard and rappel down and have done hundreds of :round trips". I am still on my first Sterling Autoblock and the product shows some discoloration and some micro fraying, but is substantially solid and still has a lot of service. The autoblock is not live support, but when used to prevent out of control rappels you should treat it as such.

I own several of these and they work great. I am a fan of sterling product and use their ropes for Canyoneering as well. This is a very good product and the price on Amazon was very competitive
