I needed this step-up ring to mount filters and lens hoods on an old Canon rangefinder lens from the 60's. The lens has an odd filter size of 48mm and I couldn't find a lens filter or hood to fit that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I never take a lens out shooting without at least a UV filter on, so I'm so thankful that step-up rings like this exist to keep old lenses protected. Screwed onto my lens easily and holds both filters and lens hoods nice and solid. Glad I grabbed this step-up ring!

I have a 3D printed lens adapter for a Seestar S50 smart telescope. The adapter is threaded for 2" filter which are 58mm. By using this step-up ring, I can use a 59mm solar filter. Price was great also!

I purchased this 48mm to 49mm step up ring for use on the 40mm F1.7 lens on my Canonet QL17GIII 35mm rangefinder camera. The lens has a 48mm filter ring, which is an unusual size. I have many 49mm filters (which is a much more common lens thread size) and 49mm hoods. Rather than try to find filters and lens hoods in the unusual 48mm size, I just got this step-up ring and now can use my 49mm accessories on this camera. Fit and finish are good, the ring works fine.
