Make sure to watch the how to videos before getting started! I didn't realize I needed a foam roller so had to run to the store. But once you follow the instructions this works really really well! The stencil is just large enough to let you paint a decent part of the wall but not so big as to be difficult to maneuver. After using and cleaning, it still looks almost brand new so I could keep this more walls. Definitely worth it

I absolutely love it. It has transformed a horrible wall. So easy to use and I will re use it as it’s really well made. Great size to make it as easy as possible. Love it !

So, I waited just about forever to actually use this out of fear it would turn out terribly - and it didn’t, it came out great! My quick recommendations: it’s really helpful to have an extra set of hands to help manage the ‘wet’ stencil (once you’ve started). Also: there are no registration ‘marks’ like you used to find in more traditional stencils. Instead, when you move the stencil to the second (and subsequent ) positions, you line up the leftmost section painted with the corresponding shapes on the stencil when placed in the new position. (The cutout bits on the edge of the stencil are *not* registration marks.)Use a barely wet, high nap roller (roll off the excess on newspaper). It took me about three hours to cover a 10-12 foot section of wall, floor to ceiling and I’ve already had compliments from everyone who ha seen the result!

I stenciled my first wall in 1978 and have have used hundreds of stencils since for myself and others. This stencil is probably the cheapest, flimsiest one I've seen. I purchased it ahead of time for a commercial project that was delayed so the window to return was past or I would have sent back. First you need to realize this is a 'reverse' stencil. Normally you are stenciling the object or the foreground and your wall color is the background. Here you are stenciling the space between the trees and not the trees themselves so there are long skinny plastic strips of 'trees' and large spaces of nothing. It would have made much more sense to have big spaces of plastic with narrow cutouts to apply the paint (the trees) I painted one section to test- struggled then realized that there was no way after lifting off that the flimsy plastic 'strips' were going to lay evenly for the next section without carefully running a finger down EACH 'tree' pressing continuously to get the spray adhesive to adhere to the wall correctly-through the wet paint that was naturally on the front of the stencil. There was no way they were going to lay straight! I still own stencils that are 20 yrs old. This one is junk. I wadded it up and threw it in the trash! Do yourself a favor and purchase from Cutting Edge Stencils or Royal Design Studio if you are looking for a quality stencil.

The stencil is beautiful however it is very large and I thought it would be better for covering a large area seeing how I did a whole wall, however it is hard to tack to the wall without buying the adhesive that you spray on the back and stick it with, almost impossible, and it bleeds paint under the stencil way too much if you use a roller even a lightly paint wet roller. I wound up having to by the repositionable tacky spray for stencils and used a dry sponge to dab the paint and it took a very long time, but it does look very nice not the easiest project if you've never worked with stencils before and have no patience like me, the wait time for the stencil to dry between coats and to be able to position another section was brutal! I say try a one" by one" instead of this large one if it's your first time.

I am a Civil Engineer and believe it or not...I hate painting! But then I decided to add something special to my bedroom with the purchase of this stencil. I have made slow progress but, man....I am having soooo much fun! To give you an idea of speed, my wall accommodates (lucky me) exactly 5 widths of the stencil...so I have to work on 5 columns. Each column needs 2.3 stencils (give or take). Each column is taking me 1.5 hours (provided that you have prep'd everything (painter's tape where required, mix you paint, newspapers handy, etc.). A wall like mine can be done in 2 days (all by yourself, no helpers). These are some of my tips to make it easier for you:1) use your shower to hang the stencil when required - I do it to allow the paint to dry.2) do this with 1 or 2 assistants...I did it alone and it was a little hard. Your helpers can remove excess paint from the stencil, and they can help you placing the stencil on the wall.3) if your job is bigger than mine, consider buying 2 stencils, instead of one....while one of the stencils is cleaned up, you can use the 2nd one to move forward. If you think that's pricy, share the cost with friends and family, if they want to do the same at home (be smart).4) get some plastic sheeting to place your stencil on thee floor, so you can clean it as you go (you will need to remove any excess of paint).5) I used a combination of spray tape and regular tape.6) do not overthink this, even if your stencil is not perfectly placed, the design is very forgiving...you don't need to be perfect! My painting experience is almost zero (I leave that to my wife) but this DIY project made me change my mindset...again, the results are beautiful!

The stencil is well made and I found it easy to use. I highly recommend using spray adhesive, painter's tape and a small sponge roller.I kept my roller very dry to purposely achieve the mottled look that my project has. This is stencilled on plywood at our cottage.Alcohol removes the adhesive from the stencil afterwards.

I've never used a stencil to decorate a wall, but I saw this one and loved the idea. I used it to decorate one wall in our powder room and it turned out beautifully. Except for working in a cramped corner (not fault of the stencil :) ), it was so easy to use. I followed the instructions (the written instructions and the videos were really helpful, especially about what kind of roller to use and how to roll the paint on newspaper or paper towels to get the right amount of paint before you start rolling. The stencil aligned perfectly when moving to the next section, and because it is large, the project went quickly. I love that a small stencil was included to finish that little spot at the bottom instead of having to use the big stencil. It cleaned it up nicely with Dawn soap and warm water. It did take a little scrubbing but only because the paint had dried by the time I washed it.The first shipment was smashed by the carrier and the stencil had creases in it. I reported it and Stencilit immediately shipped another one.I would definitely buy another product from Stencilit. Great product, great people!

I used this stencil in a orange peel textured drywall. I used frog tape to attached it to the wall and a small flocked roller with a little paint tray to paint it. The stencil is quite forgiving because of the organic shapes. After you have used it for awhile it gets thick with dried paint and starts to buckle a little. It continues to work well after that, but I would appreciate it if the videos by the company included instructions for cleaning the stencil of excess paint. I find the finished wall comparable to much more expensive wallpaper and it is more customizable lower cost. Yoir room will look very custom.

Good product and gave our dining room a new look. The stencil was pretty easy to use but do not use painters tape to hold it down when using. We bought a spray adhesive at Hobby Lobby which helped a lot. The stencil didn’t move and the paint when on even. My boyfriend did everything and he loved it. I do think it’s too expensive but it was cheaper than buying wall paper.
