Love these casters. I ove these casters I have them on some heavy duty work benches I have in the garage. The previous casters fell apart from the weight and heat. These guys are still going strong qith no issues.

I have a drum sander mounted on a stand, with wheels. The wheels were similar to these wheels, with a softer rubber/plastic covering. On a couple of the wheels the covering began to deteriorate, cracking and some falling off.I recognize that these wheels are similar and hope that the covering holds up better.Installation was easy. I jacked up the stand, removed the wheels from one side, and installed the new wheels. No problems at all. Then I did the other side. The wheels roll and pivot fine, and can be locked.The old wheels lasted over ten years and if I get that out of these, I'll be satisfied.

I had purchased a cheap $500 hi-lift transmission jack from Amazon, the trans jack works great but almost impossible to roll with steel casters. Being jack was made in China with odd size cheap Chinese steel casters. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a set of nylon wheel swiveling casters, everywhere I looked it was going to cost me $25-$30 per caster and needed 4. Found these for $25 for set of 4 non locking casters. I I knew I was going to have to change the style of caster from a small flange mount caster to a stem style caster. Received casters in 3 days from Amazon, opened box and was surprised how heavy and well build the 4” casters are. Drilled threw caster pad on all 4 jack legs with 1/2” drill and mounted new casters. WOW I can now roll the jack with one had instead of having to shove with both hands. Well worth the money, I also bought a set with wheel locks.

Bought these used on Amazon, so I'm not sure whether my experience will be indicative of new purchase, but seems likely. The casters themselves are great quality with well-greased bearings, sturdy 1/2 inch studs, with coarse 13 TPI threads. The wheel locks prevent both wheel rotation AND caster rotation, so they are completely stationary when locked. My only complaints are with the hardware that came with them. The 1/2 inch nuts had the wrong thread pattern, so some were already stripped out (likely from original purchaser) and none would go on. Second, it came with two cheap cast metal wrenches, each wrench having two fixed sizes of opening. However, only one of the wrenches had the appropriate sizes for the hex stud on the caster and the hex bolt (each a different size). But being on the same wrench, you can't tighten anything down without bringing your own wrench to the party. Threw away theother wrench since it was crappy material and didn't fit anything. Finally, the wrench that fit the hex stud was cheap and bent open when tightening down some new properly threaded nuts, and the space you have to work with won't fit a standard wrench thickness. So you kind of have to make it work. I had to bend it closed again. The small washers that came with these were fine for fitting under the nut on the top, but for distributing the weight of the server rack above it I used some 2 inch steel washers (three per caster) underneath and purchased some 1/2 inch 13 TPI threaded nuts above from hardware store and they ended up mounting very sturdily.

Casters with 1/2” thread are perfect for my wen bench grinder stand. Had to purchase a pack of 4 for only 3 needed casters. Locking with your foot is a breeze, it snaps down when locked for a good tactile feel knowing it’s locked when snapped shut. It locks so tight you cannot unlock with your foot, you must bend down and unsnap the lock with your hand. Since it’s basically a semi-permanent install for a grinder stand it’s not a problem for me. If you move your equipment regularly then you’ll likely get frustrated with not being able to unlock them with your foot.The wheels are made from polyurethane like skateboard wheels. Heavy duty bearing casters and construction for small bases. I wouldn’t recommend them for large workbenches or table saws stands. Swivel action is ok, not great. For my uses it’s more than adequate.
