I have a persistent and smart dog who has figured out or broken other types of latches. I saw this one and thought it might finally be the one to confound her. It turns out it was exactly what I needed! It was very easy to install and I didn't need to drill any new holes anywhere. It's incredibly sturdy because it's steel. It's quite easy to open the door for a human, but impossible for our dog. She's tried over and over again, but hasn't been able to open this latch. It's been quite a while now and she usually figures them out by now, but not this one! It's too strong for her to break and she can't figure out to push the latch to open the door. No more getting into the litter! Now my cats can take care of business without her interfering and I don't have to clean up the mess. I highly recommend this latch for anyone who has a clever or strong or determined dog. This really works!

This is a game changer. It’s so refreshing I don’t have to keep opening and closing the door to let the cats in and out of the bedroom where we keep their litter box and food. We had to do that to keep the dogs from getting in there and eating it all. Yes, I said all. Gross. Now the door stays open at the perfect (adjustable) level & the cats can go in and out as they please. It keeps the dogs out. It is perfect, and I recommend it to anyone.

Bought four of these altogether, to keep our dogs out of certain rooms. Works great, easy to install, but I don't know why the price is now double compared to when I bought 3 in February for $29.71 each.

I rarely write reviews, however this is just fantastic. My cats now have privacy in the utility room for their food and litter away from my dog.Very easy to install and the item can be adjusted depending on how far you want the door to be ajar.I'm am very pleased. Sturdy and does the job. Highly recommended.

This works perfectly to give my cat a little sanctuary away from my overly boisterous dog. I'm unsure why other reviewers are saying their cat can't get through or that they can't close the door because both are fine for me. I have a pretty chunky 20lb cat also! It's true the opening to the door is quite small but there are adjustable plates on it so you can open it wider. It's probably about 4-5 inches wide on the widest setting. I was a bit nervous whether this would work with doorframes in the UK but worked absolutely fine with my new-build, no additional holes needed to be drilled. All in all, a great product that I highly recommend.

I bought this to give out cats a safe space away from our 2 year old German Shepard. Installation was easy and it kept our dog out at first. So the downside that I have found are that first I cannot actually close the door with this on, it will close but not latch meaning the dog can push the door open. We have this on a door that opens inwards to the room and our dog is extremely intelligent (when she wants to be) and found out after about 4 days that is she reaches her paw in and pushes on this gadget while leaning on the door the door will swing open. So we are going to have to move this up to where she cannot reach it but that will involve drilling additional holes in the door frame and will eliminate all hope of being able to close the door which is a bummer. But I would say that for the average dog this will work great, for reference our Shepard is about 40lbs, unbelievably strong for her size and can usually kick open any door that isn’t locked but this gadget was sturdy enough to withstand her just not outsmart her.

Amazing!!! Perfect to keep dog out. We have one on basement door so cat can go to basement and dog can't follow to full fill his guilty disgusting pleasure and we have one on bathroom door where cat dish is. Easy to get into the rooms, no need to climb over a hurdle, looks neat and tidy.

I had no idea this product existed! I found it while looking for door stop options that would allow air circulation while keeping a large dog I am petsitting away from my birds.One bird has special needs and likes to walk around the bottom of his cage (within reach of a dog). He only has one foot, and is somewhat lacking in the fear department at times. He also sleeps on the ground, smashed up against the cage bars, ...with a paper cup on his head so he can't see anyone / anything approaching. I am not kidding. Mammal saliva can be toxic to birds, and I didn't want to risk a dog scratch or bite through the cage.I was wary of similar products that are plastic or attach with adhesive strips, so I was thrilled to find something made of STAINLESS STEEL and attached with SCREWS. It's very durable.The product was easy to install. I couldn't find a full size screwdriver, but the one on my Leatherman worked just fine. No drill needed!The only issue I've noticed so far is that the vinyl sticker is starting to peel off already. (Probably because I installed it at the strike plate location, and cut the sticker in pieces instead of fully wrapping it around the door.) The sticker edge near the latch is peeling up and taking the paint with it. Kind of annoying. If I get another sticker, I'm just going to try and cut a hole in the center.Overall, I trust the lives of my birds with this, it's very sturdy and a great invention.
