About this item

  • Easy Hole Enlargement - It replaces the pilot drill in any A1, A2, or A10 arbors for effortless hole enlargement.
  • Versatile Compatibility - It works with various Starrett hole saws, including Constant Pitch, Dual Pitch, TCT Multipurpose, Carbide Tipped, and Diamond Grit types.
  • Accurate and Reliable - It ensures precise enlargement by attaching a saw of the same size as the existing hole, which then acts as the pilot for the larger diameter saw.
  • Robust Design - It is engineered for durability and efficiency, providing a reliable solution for enlarging holes.

Starrett "Oops" hole saw enlargement arbor. It allows diameters to be enlarged by attaching a saw of the same size to that of the existing hole. This saw then acts as the pilot for the larger diameter saw that is attached to the arbor in the normal way. Replaces the pilot drill in any A1, A2 or A10 type arbors.

Worked perfectly! Really bailed me out of a predrilled smaller hole that needed to be enlarged. I feel it is a little pricey for a small piece but it allowed me to complete the project.

When I got this, I saw right away that the shaft on the adapter is twice as long as shown in the Amazon photo, and it is 1/4" diameter with a flat side, much like a pilot drill for a hole saw. I then had to scrounge for an adapter (not included) to use for the "pilot" hole saw -- NOTE: It's better to use a longer "pilot" hole saw, as the short one in the photo only stuck out past the larger hole saw by 1/4".After assembling, I began cutting the new hole, and 3/4 of the way thru, the saw began spinning in the shaft; It stripped the large arbor set screw (photo), and I had to replace it to finish. The now gnarled shaft was difficult to remove, and I had to put the saw in a vice and "spin" it out with the drill; Then I had to put the adapter shaft in the vice under high torque to remove the larger hole saw with Channel Locks -- I was very worried I was going to snap the arbor shaft... I ordered something else that I hope is more "commercially oriented" than this item...

This works amazingly. Not used often but perfect when needed. I changed recessed lights that were 5" and went to 6", this worked excellent

It does the job but it came with a slight bend and after straightening it, it still bent 3 more times(To be fair I had a really large metal cutting job to do with it) I never was able to get it not to wobble but I managed to get through the job

A real problem solver. The perfect item when a hole saw drilled hole is too small. Allows putting 2 hole saw bits in combination to drill the larger hole that is needed. The smaller hole saw acts as the guide in the hole that is too small centering the larger bit. Worked great.

Great idea, good quality. I have not used it as intended, as my project changed. Still, I am glad I have it.

I had the advantage of seeing this tool in use years before needing it. As brief as possible, the home I was renovating used undersized locksets. In order to standardize door hardware, I had to enlarge the lockset holes on a dozen doors. A jig and router would have done the job but at the cost of far too much time and the creation of a mess. This brilliant but simple tool saved me untold hours of work. It's definitely a quality tool of hardened steel. Whether you have one mistake to correct or a situation similar to mine, the tool will help you and on that you may rely.

This little tool has all the hallmarks of a good tool; inexpensive, simple, effective. What this does is allow you to re-drill a hole to a larger size. Anyone who has made this mistake knows the difficulty in keeping the larger hole saw centered without the pilot drill; the hole saw will skate over the surface and you'll be lucky to keep it anywhere close to center. This piece takes the place of the pilot drill on a hole saw arbor so that you may use a hole saw as the pilot drill and whatever size hole saw to cut the new hole perfectly centered. There are better instructions of how to use this elsewhere but to me it was self-explanatory looking at the product.I am really glad someone thought of this tool because I love keeping wires hidden, and more often than not the furniture I purchase has too small of a hole to fit more than a power cables through. The right tool always makes the job easier.
