It's not the end of the world, but the ends of the blade are missing paint. I understand the paint will wear out with use, but the sections that it's missing paint are the two spots that wouldn't actually get worn out as they are where the blade mounts. A little bit of the part number and measurements on the left side are missing too. Little disappointed as I was restoring an old Keller hacksaw, and wanted it to look brand new.

Rigid enough to work great in my power hacksaw. It eats cheap thin blades for breakfast, so this one is perfect.

Cuts good. Needs more weight to cut than others. Appears to be lasting. Accident got oil on mine. It will stop cutting then. Holds shape good. At this point I feel it's going to last longer than some others I've tried.

I ordered this in November of 2019, and wasn't able to use it until today. Only, I couldn't use it, because it isn't the size it claims to be. It's stamped right on the blade that it's 12" x 1", even though the listing says it's 1 1/8" wide. That's not the issue though. The blade is 12 7/8" long, so I can't tighten it down on my power hacksaw. I've attached a picture showing the issue. On the left side of the picture, where tension is adjusted, the blade is pulled all the way up to the frame, and the metal between the pin hole and the end of the blade stops it from being pulled any further, but the left side is not hooked on the pin. I have to look into whether or not I can grind it off. I found some old forum posts from people saying that Starrett changed their blade sizes a bit, but reused model numbers.
