This is a 3/8 and not a 7/16. Personally, I like it. I have no problems with it. I have long arms so this 30" works great.

It's a great starter baton for an older student such as myself. Works for my long arms. I really do secretly love it. Well-balanced, as far as I can tell, and very soft rubber tips for mistakes.

My son loves to twirl and the quality of the baton is good. My issue is with the $7.95 shipping even on the replacement tips (You will need tips eventually and the star and and ball end will set you back around $13). By the time we were about to buy replacement tips, it was easier to just buy a whole new baton. I think that's greedy and crazy. Maybe there's a reseller near us or another baton company.
