I had a plastic 3 ft measuring tape keychain for a long time until it dropped from my key ring and broke apart. The Stanley is made from metal, compact in size and the weight is great, not heavy at all. The tape pulled out measures a bit over 3 ft and will be great when I go thrift shopping.

I thrift a lot and oftentimes wish that I had a measuring tape to compare picture frame sizes, furniture, etc. and this has come in handy so many times. It can attach to your keychain / bag, or keep it in your car for such an occassion.

I do art festivals for a living and was always looking for something to measure things with. This is compact and tiny but exactly what I needed and it fits anywhere.

Sometimes you need to measure something, but you don't want to carry a chunky tape measure everywhere you go. This one is in my pants pocket with my house keys because it's connected to them. The 3-feet length worked fine for comparing the footprint of my toaster oven to that of my mom's -- which is really the reason I got it. The size is perfect, the tape is excellent, and the admittedly plastic case is fine ... and lighter-weight compared to a steel case.

This replaced one that was lost. I didn't realize how useful it was until it was gone. I had to replace it and was glad to find it on Amazon at a decent price.
