After thinking we would have to get the car towed to a repair shop, I found the problem was a faulty switch and had a part the next day. Easy to replace, worked just like the original.

The brake switch on my 2004 Odyssey broke off while doing some work under the dash.It took a bit of fiddling to realize that the broken off piece could be easily removed by rotating it 90 degrees. The same goes for inserting the new switch. Just rotate it until it goes in easily then set the length about what the old one is. Then rotate it 90 degrees to lock it in place. This part works great.

2004 Honda Odyssey . Had problems shifting the van out of park . Thought I had transmission problem . Would have to step on brake , release brake etc. etc. till I got the shifter to go from park to any gear. Went to OdyClub.com and researched the problem . All reviews led me to replacing the brake pedal switch . Watched a couple you tube videos on how to replace . Five stars to this product . Changed switch and even used old grommet . !!!! Yippee !!!! Van shifter is smooth . Fit perfectly thanks

I finally got around to installing this part yesterday (2/21/23) out of necessity due to the old one finally going out. It took maybe 15-20 minutes max. And that’s only because I had a little trouble unplugging the old switch. Once I got that done, it was all downhill from there. The lock ring fit snugly into the bracket, the plug went into the switch smoothly and the the switch and lock ring mated up perfectly. My brake lights lit up on the first try and every pedal press since. I would definitely buy from this seller again.

Amazon said that it would fit my 2004 Honda Pilot and that is incorrect. That's my fault for not looking at mine to verify. Other than that it seems like a good piece of equipment.

I was having problems with the stick being stuck in park. Would not let me change to drive or other, I would keep trying and when it finally did change there was no problem between the rest of the gears. It didn't seem logical for it to be a transmission problem so I had to investigate. After some internet searches, one forum suggested that the breaklights might not be working as that is a safety programed to the Odysseys. The lights would turn on but not all the time. Another search showed that the break light sensor could be the problem and how easy it was to change. It was worth trying it and so I bought this piece. It came with the parts needed and though its plastic it worked great. Now I have no problem with shifting at all and the breaklights are reliably working.

3 years ago my shifter didn't want to always get out of park. The button wouldn't press every time. It worked about 50% of the time. So, I purchased a genuine Honda replacement switch. 3 years later, I'm having the same problem. Sometimes I can't get out of park. I saw this aftermarket brand for just $6 and thought, well, I'll give it a try. Took seconds to install, and works perfect. How long will it last? I don't know, but, it was super low cost and it is working perfect for now. I still have my other 2 'broken' switches in my glove box just incase I ever need to switch it out in an emergency and get moving. Bottom line, it works.
