For a 1998 Dodge Dakota 3.9 automatic. Had difficulty figuring out which switch fit my truck. The three wire connector fits the automatic (my truck). The two wire fits the manual. It is a little tricky to remove because it is very close to the top of the transmission oil pan, on the driver's side. It requires a 1" thin wall deep socket. There was no way to get any type of wrench on it. Otherwise, it was very straight forward to remove and replace. The lights worked immediately. The whole process took about 15 minutes. I had my truck on ramps (front and back wheel driver's side) and there was no fluid loss.

Great part at a good price. My Jeep wouldn’t start and after replacing the starter to no avail I figured it was the neutral safety switch since the reverse lights were also not working. Installed this new switch and was back on the road in no time. Thanks

Cheap, easy fix for brake lights on 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2L. It did blow fuse number 7 and I placed new bulbs. Works like a charm.

The part was an exact replacement on my 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 automatic. It solved the issue I was having with my reverse lights as well as the issue where the truck would try to start in any gear. Was a bit of a pain to replace due to location and the fact that the only socket I had large enough was an impact socket and the wall was thick enough to make it difficult to get the socket on far enough to loosen the old and install the new.

Bought this switch to fix my reverse lights. They wouldn’t light up and I traced the problem to the switch.Getting the old one out was difficult. The transmission shift linkage and cooler lines are in the way. You’ll need a 1” deep well socket that fits over the connector to get it out. This switch is identical to my factory original switch in fit and function. Replacing the switch fixed my reverse lights.
