I like it when things go right! Got this part and went to go out and install it ….perfect match and worked as anticipated! Couldn’t be any happier!

Installed on my 2005 Ford Escape with zero issues. Installed and functions just like the more expensive OEM version. I have had it on my car for a little over 2 months now and zero problems. Before the gear shift indicator on the dashboard would just disappear and not show you what gear you are in and the vehicle would shift funny. I highly recommend this part!

The position switch on my 98 Mazda 626 was acting up intermittently, a couple times the trans shifted down and back up for no reason then a few weeks later I got an engine light P0708 for the trans range switch out of range. This replacement part looked A LOT different than what came on my car, but it's been over 20 years and 170,000 miles I guess replacement parts don't need to look the same as long as they work the same. So far this is working the same. The original part is a much much larger and made of metal, this is almost 2/3 the size and all plastic, so don't be alarmed by the differences in appearance. The mounting, shaft hole, and connector are the same and it fits/works fine.

Ford calls it a Transmission Range (TR) Sensor or Auto Trans Gear Position Sensor. On the freeway, the overdrive would turn off and on, causing the RPM to rise and drop by a 1000.This replacement is cheaper in price and quality than the dealership, but it solved my problem. In fact, shifting appears to be smoother than before my problem (but I also changed the Transmission Turbine Speed Sensor thinking I had a shifting problem). It was difficult getting to the switch because it was below the thermostat housing and I had to remove several coolant hoses. Just make sure you line up the notches on the switch in neutral -- I used a screwdriver and marked the point against a hose. To test the installation, I hooked up the battery with jumper cables and checked if the reverse lights turned on when I shifted to Reverse.
