I'm so glad I found this point set, exactly the same manufacture as the original set installed in my 1950 John Deere MT.

Look no further for a high quality set of ignition points. Made in Mexico. I installed a set of Delco-Remy points that were new but very old. They were poorly made and had high resistance across the contacts when closed. My engine would miss, quit, or backfire constantly. After installing these Standard Motor Products points, problem solved. Highly recommended.

I bought these points because the picture in the listing shows the DR2227P that I have been buying and using for years. What is delivered is something all together different. Base plate and the reciprocating arm are made out of stamp steel not copper. There is absolutely no wiping block as pictured in the listing. And what makes matters worse is that these points are now made up of two parts whereas The Originals were fully assembled and peened over as a single unit. Now you are given A separate Spring Which lays under the copper Grounding tail Instead of over it Period It is not worth the money being charged Comma This is a cheap Representation Of what once was the best set of points you could buy. I sent mine back as I know where I can buy this exact design for half the price. Standard has lost their way. Low quality, not as shown in the picture listing, avoid!
