Wow! This was a great purchase! Definitely recommend this item. I cannot believe how easy it was to install; it took maybe 2 seconds! It fits perfectly, and the lock was exactly as described. (I purchased a few off-brands from a hardware store that didn’t fit properly and required so many tools to install.)

The dimensions of the cycle were smaller but worked fine. Had to use the cam (metal latch lever that swivels when the key is turned) from the previous lock. Cam from this lock needed to be back farther with a 90 degree angle. Took about 10 minutes to remove old lock, switch cams, and install on box. Nice

Fit perfectly. Make sure you order the lock to match your mailbox. There are many variations on latch shape and size.As others said, this is a no tool install. You just remove the clip on the existing one, angle out the whole lock, and angle in the new one. DO NOT remove the nut on the end.

The lock arrived w/ some of the pins in the bottom of the bag and the key stuck in the keyway. I had read of a similar situation in another review but optimistically wished to stick with a factory lock to match the others in the unit. Fortunately, based on the other review, I also ordered a Prime-Line 9940 universal lock based solely on its high rating. I knew it didn’t have the proper cam for my application. The Salisbury cam didn’t fit the Prime-Line but I adapted one of the supplied cams using a bench grinder and 10 min of work. This is my first amazon review in hundreds of purchases. If, like me, you have a tenant’s mailbox that needs a lock ASAP I source through a local locksmith and not Salisbury.

The pictures is not what was received. It looks like the same front. It had the latch already attached. This was problematic because the lock Would not fit into the existing slot with the latch attached.I removed the nut used to secure the latch. The key cylinder slide out of housing and the pins scattered. There were no instructions or warnings included. The lock was now useless. Reading other reviews I am not the first customer to experience this design flaw. If the cylinder as pictured had been sent, it would have been a simple remove and replace.I had to get the another key cylinder ASAP. I was leaving the next morning to go out of town. I went to a local locksmith and got the part as pictured. It took all of 3 minutes to fix.

Bought 2 for vertical Salsbury mailboxes. The first one went in easily and perfectly, but when I went to put in the second one I was trying to figure out which way to put on the inside lock and somehow the inner lock slipped out with the key and I heard, to my growing dread, the pins fall on the ground! So be careful inserting the locks!I'm ordering another for a third mailbox. I put a generic lock on the second mailbox but it doesn't close the door as well as the original Salsbury lock.
