To maximize plant growth, the pH level of your nutrients should be slightly acidic. Experienced growers consider the ideal pH for most crops to fall between 5.5 and 6.5. Users of Standard Hydroponics nutrient products generally do not experience problems maintaining the proper pH range because our formulas are NOT pH buffered. However, some important exceptions do exist. pH can acidify to an unacceptable level when nutrient solutions are used with poor quality water, or pH unstable media, such as rockwool. High growth rates can also destabilize pH.

Large Scale Indoor Farming Growers

Coco Coir or Soil Growers From Watering Plants and Checking water Run offs for pH

Grow media like coco peat needs about 5.8 to 6.3 ph and a flush of pH 6.8 to 7.0, as well as in soil you can read the slurry in soil ( MUD ) pH or check the water run off in tray to see what pH is.

Basement Growers

If you use growing media - rock wool ror advanced growers then you can use pH up and down to yield better results with nutrients Intake to the plants.

Hydroponics, Soilless Grow Bags or Coco ~ 5.5 – 6.5 pH

For hydroponic growing setups (as well as soilless growing mediums like coco coir) an optimum root zone pH is between 5.5 and 6.5. This is slightly more acidic than the optimal root pH for growing in soil.

It’s a good idea to let the pH cover a range instead of always adjusting to the exact same pH number.

Our team of Ph.D have known and practice running our pH at 5.3 ph at grow stage then going to 6.8 as your flower seems to have less lockouts and more growth along with alot of aeration in the water.

4 STEPS TO BE A pH GROW MASTER First Calibrate Your pH Meter or Use Drops - Test Strips

PH is the measure of how “acidic” or “alkaline” something is, on a 1-14 scale. A pH of “7” is considered neutral, for example pure water has a pH of about 7. The measurements of pH has to do with the concentration of hydrogen in the sample. A grower can measure the pH of a water sample using special pH tester drops or a digital pH pen, like the one shown here my pocket.

For PH Down – Never Mix Nutrients or Supplements Directly With Each other Or You will Have A Major Bummer

For PH Down – 1 mL/gallon of water will generally reduce your pH about 1 point. That’s just a very rough estimate, but gives you a starting point. In imperial measurements, will reduce the ph pH by 1 point.

For PH UP

For PH UP – PH Up is not potent stuff! It actually has a very weak effect. Compared to PH Down you will need to add much more PH Up to adjust the pH by the same amount. With PH Up, depending on how hard your water is you need to add 2-4mL/gallon of water to raise the pH 1 point. In imperial measurements that’s 0.4-0.8tsp/gallon.

Soil ~ 6.0 – 7.0 pH

In the wild, Many plants prefers a slightly acidic soil environment. For soil an optimum root zone pH for plants is between 6.0 and 7.0, with the most time spent with a pH between 6.2 – 6.9. It’s a good idea to let the pH cover a range instead of always adjusting to the exact same pH number.

The package got to my house with the plastic bag torn, and the PH Up leaking from a broken seal and the cap being loose. I feel bad if anyone had come into contact with it and ruined clothing. Other than that the product is great and potent. Only a few drops and the water changes drastically more than any other PH product I used before. I recommend over the bigger brand bottles of the same stuff. This is definitely gonna go the distance I need it to and more.

I primarily only use the down. I add to the water prior to nutes works out. Each day after the ph rises a little bit if needed I add a bit more to bring back down.

Love how big the bottle is. 10 oz. bottle has OVER 1,000 extra drops compared to the standard 8oz AND it was cheaper. Very strong solution as well. Not much needed at all. Will definitely last you a long time to come. Great product for the price and I’ll be back to buy an even bigger bottle!
