I always wanted a stand mixer since I started baking more. This is just what I was looking for without the huge cost of the name brands. I like that it comes with multiple accessories. The speed and release buttons are easy to access. The bowl has a large capacity which allows you to mix without getting a lot of spillage on the mixer body. I did find I had to raise the top when I wanted to scrape the sides of the bowl. There is an access opening in the splash guard but I found that a bit difficult to access. There are 8 speeds but mostly I determined the lowest speed to be workable with cake mixes. So I know there is a lot more power available for thicker batters or bread dough. I did find the motor to be louder than expected but in talking to friends, they said their motor was also loud. It was not a problem, just not quiet.
