Used twice and has already turned in color rusty look in center and you can not lift up the one side to put firewood in because the brackets were put in the opposite way. So when you are not using it to grill I would flip it upside down. We actually flipped it upside down to grill so the one side would raise up to add more wood.

Product is hinged backwards but didn’t matter much because we are using it to support our firewood in our pit, not as a cooking surface so we did use it technically upside down. Being said, we’ve had it 1 week and it is significantly rusted already.

I got this for a generic round fire pit I got for my back yard and it's perfect! There's a bit of an overhang over the fire pit, but that's no issue. It keeps the outer edge clean and free of any kind of soot or anything like that. The handles on this are great and the fact that it folds up is perfect for storage! So far it's held up pretty well to the fire pit with only some minor wear thst you'd expect on something like a BBQ grill, but that's completely normal considering you're sitting this thing directly over fire. It's been great for different uses as well, I've grilled some hot dogs, threw on a steak and even boiled a pot of water so far, all without issue.Highly recommend!

Great construction and very sturdy but I expected it to fold the opposite way. I wanted to tend the fire without moving this grill top ,but this item folds the opposite of what I had hoped for

This portable cooking grill is relatively lightweight, easy to carry, and you can choose whether to fold it in half and use a half-circle, or use the whole thing. It would fit well over a circular fire pit of 36" diameter or less, but I also plan to use this with bricks or stones or large logs holding up the sides.I teach outdoor cooking at a camp and this will be perfect, better than using BBQ grates or oven grates which can be too small or have spaces that are too large. This grate has the classic steel diamond grill pattern which is perfect for grilling directly or for holding up foil packets.Note that lightweight also means relatively thin metal, so I don't know how long it will last. One thing I noticed is the hinges are riveted into the frame. At some point if one side gets too rusted out I will drill them out and use just the half. The folding handles come separate and assembly is as easy as tightening a few nuts.

Our family always wanted a small fire pit in our back yard but we previously used a bunch of bricks to make one, and it kept falling apart and did not keep wood and other flammables contained effectively, so we recently ordered a fully metal fire pit ring with a 30 inch diameter, but it did not come with a pit cover. We decided to source this "X-MARKS" cooking grate cover option instead from brand STANBROIL which has turned out to be the perfect size to match our new pit.We have some really nice large stones we cemented directly around the base of the outer portion of our fire pit display. The grill metal of this pit cover grill is the same industrial steel material and matches the ring perfectly, it is strong and appears very durable and able to withstand the heat and battering we will definitely give it when we start cooking food on it.The instructions are very simple on how to use this grill cover with no issue. It is just a matter of placement, and then getting on with the grilling. There are handles on either side to lift; just make sure you have appropriate heat resistant cooking gloves on before you do, as the entire grill cover will get very hot. The grate is also folding-capable, so you can fold one half over on the other, so that one side of the fire pit is open, and the other side is still a grill, which is a really cool (or should I say, hot) feature.I ordered the 30 inch outer option, but the brand also offers a variety of size options, as well as a large selection of other fire pit tools and accessories. If there are any issues in the future, I will update, but otherwise and so far, it is a solid 5 star product from a great company that definitely knows their fire pits.

This grill fits nicely over my custom 36 inch ring. The grill is small enough that things won't fall through. Usually use our outdoor fire for burning off yard waste but occasionally we like to have a little campfire and grill some hot dogs or marshmallows. I am concerned that the hinge might rust but your food does not come in contact with that. I like the carrying handles and it folds for easy storage. That being said you can't fold up half to add more wood as the hinge operates in the opposite to the direction. I'm sure we'll get lots of views out of this at the summer when the grandkids are visiting.

love this! Amazing for my backyard fire pit! Very well made and love that it folds in half for easy storage. Great if you're into cooking outside or at the campsite.

I was looking for such a product to provide a means to cook food with a brick fire pit or camp fire. Most were a solid round unit. I was put off by the size and weight. Fine if stored only for home use, but unwieldy and clumsy for a camping trip. That's why I was immediately drawn to this Stanbroil X- Mark folding cooking grate. Its area is halved for storage and transport. Perfect! It's wide enough and has the capacity to cook plenty of food for 4-6 people. And fits well for most 26-28" fire pits. It's pre-seasoned I assume as it has a black-coated surface to the steel. Albeit there is no confirmation in the company documents. I like that it can be suspended on chains or cables over a fire too if you are equipped. But it is usually held over a camp fire with stones underneath. It appears durable enough to last a good number of years if kept clean and safe. Some have complained it can't be opened to feed more wood for a fire in the pit. Simple solution, flip the grate over and cook on the bottom side and the hinges will let you fold open one half to add wood. Be sure to handle it with silicone gloves/mitts to not burn yourself. It met expectations, and I'm quite satisfied with this product. Once folded, it's much easier to manage and load into the trunk.
