Thinner acrylic blocks. Not so clunky to hold. Good selection of sizes in one package. Good value!!!

Shipping took nearly 2 weeks which was an excruciating wait for some new stamps I was itching to try. They are EXACTLY what I needed!I have chunky acrylic blocks but need something that stores and travels well. I have several larger stamps I have never used because I didn’t have a block large enough. Now I can finish my swatch book of hundreds of stamps and also take one or two larger crystal stamps with me in a pencil pouch or case along with the necessary accoutrements without being too bulky. The thinness is either something one will love or hate but for travelers or those who do meetups this is the ultimate set.

These are designed for clear acrylic stamps that don't come with any sort of mount and red-rubber stamps that come with a smooth "cling mount" attached to the back. You simply lay the smooth side of your stamps (clear or cling-mount) to the block and use them like you would a traditional, wood-mount stamp. As others have noted, these are VERY thin blocks, slightly thicker than the plastic on a CD jewel case. They are very lightweight, and can't take abuse like the big, thicker blocks- meaning, you can't drop them on tile floors or roll over them with your desk chair because they will crack. But if you are okay with this, there are a lot of benefits to the thinner blocks because of their lightweight nature. They are more like wood handles because of their weight (but much thinner). I have smaller hands and I find these a lot easier to position and work with, especially with larger stamps. The reason I like the thin blocks is because I feel like they aren't weighing the stamps down while stamping- when I lay them on paper, I'm not sort of "thumping" them down. I can feel how much pressure I'm putting on the paper with a lighter-weight block. You can stamp the paper and leave the stamp against the paper and "smooth" it out with your hands with these particular blocks- you can't do that with the heavier blocks without holding on to them because they are so heavy that one side/corner winds up getting tipped onto the paper. With the heavier blocks, I never know how much contact the stamp is making with the paper. The best part about this pack is the variety- it has pretty much every and any size block you'd ever need.If you are okay with the thinner blocks, or find the larger blocks a little too cumbersome and heavy, give these a try.

I was a little concerned because these are thinner than many others I had seen. After using them I realized that being thin didn't effect their use and the grids on them made stamping straight much easier. This included a variety of sizes and the price was amazing.

I love the variety of sizes, economy, storagability, and gridded lines of this set. They are thin, however, and not as easy to hold on to, with square corners. If they made this set with a bit thicker plastic and easier to grip sidesI would be happy to get more.

When I first bought a set of Tim Holtz rubber stamps I was dismayed to find it did not come attached to the wood blocks I was used to, old-school. People seemed to rave over them and I loved the look so rather than returning them I invested in the acrylic grid blocks to use with them and now I'd never use anything else.First, buying the rubber stamps sets that cling to these acrylic pieces mean you have loads more storage room: you can store the rubber stamp ends in binders on the shiny pages they come attached to. They simply unpeel (no stickiness needed--they cling to anything slick due to their backing) and stick. So you save storage space as they are not each individually attached to wood blocks. But you also save money going this route because you can buy many more stamps for your money--you use the acrylic blocks over and over and only pay for the rubber part of the stamp. So why do you want these acrylic blocks to go with your rubber end pieces? The grids, baby and the thinness that allows you to see easily through them.Let's say i want to do curved rays emanating from a figure already on my art piece. If I used a thick acrylic block or wooden stamp, I would have no way to align the rays exactly around the head. This way I can see exactly where the rubber stamp will align on my piece BEFORE I stamp it and while I am stamping it--but here is where the grids come in. Let's say I want to line something up on a perfectly straight line on my art piece, like a bird sitting on a wire. You have horizontal AND vertical grid lines to ensure your rubber stamps are never tilted on your artwork. You can align them with the edge of your card or paper or canvas, or you can align them with what is already down on your page.Better yet, because this set includes some large acrylic pieces, you can actually align several stamps in a row, perfectly straight, and stamp them all down at once on to your art piece--or place them however you wish such as one on top of the other--the grids ensure they are always straight both on the art piece as well as how you align them on the acrylic.I am so glad I accidentally discovered this new way of stamping--I don't think I would have tried it otherwise and now I will never order anything but I don't think--massive choices of great designs, easy storage, allows for better accuracy. I keep the acrylic pieces in a tiny bin holder like you might use for notecards on my art table and just take them out as needed.

These acrylic blocks are very thin but that's what I love about them. They easily allow me to line up my stamps because I can get my fingers closer to the paper. I love all of the different sizes, I never have a hard time finding one that fits. The best part about these is the grid which makes it much easier to align everything.
