Product turned on for 3 minutes and then now the item will not turn back on again. Someone got it for me as a gift and did not give it to me until later and now it is out of the return window. Waste of money.

I purchased a ring light to give a more even look to some photos and I can say that this is exactly what one should expect when purchases a ring light for this price.Two things I have trouble with, one personal and another more relatable. My personal issue is that the decals on the remote you use to select the light, pattern, and brightness is off-centered and peeling off, it's on for now but I bet after a little more use it will fall off and require some tape to keep it in place. The wider issue is that the buttons seem somewhat unresponsive and that the way you change the light makes you go through them ALL one after another. If you wanted plain red you will have to click through all the other plain colors, all the rotating clockwise colors, all the rotation counterclockwise colors, then hopefully you are able to catch it without robotically clicking through it on accident.Good things are everything else. It's 5-star for the price, you can adjust brightness for each color, it has a phone holder that albeit is stiff and janky but workable, plenty of customizability in the tri-pod, and as mentioned above a LOT of choices for dynamic videos or pics.

One star deduction for an atrocious user manual.I recommend that light rings like this product and others like it be used mainly for selfie type photos and videos. I purchased it primarily to illuminate and photograph flowering house plants. The first photo shows how the device would be setup to hold the phone/camera and use its screen as a standard camera view finder to see objects to be photographed and make any desired adjustments. (To use it for selfies, rotate the holder 180 degrees so it projects a bit out front of the light ring.) The second photo shows my modified setup using camera mounting items I had on hand from prior times when I used my own tripod and a digital camera. I had to buy the little silver adapter screw shown at the base of the light ring in the picture so that my equipment for securing the phone could be attached to the light ring.The product did come with a remote for adjusting the lighting that is not shown in the Amazon write-up and is not mentioned in the user manual. I got it to work after fiddling around with it a bit.The tripod is quite basic. Even after tightening things as best I could, there was always a little vibration whenever I touched the phone/camera. I resorted to using a 2 second delay on the shutter. But then consider the overall price for the total product.For those who may already have a tripod, I'd recommend an lower cost option for this product without a tripod but with a few of the adapters mentioned above.

(Updated to 5 stars!!!) The seller reached out to me and offered to send a replacement product, and it arrived working perfectly!! The only downside is the sticker that covers the button controls for the light has a tendency to peel up, so just be careful of that! Otherwise I have no complaints!! very satisfied with the product and the customer service :)Original : I love this product and use it as a tripod for my phone all the time but unfortunately the light ring does not work/works intermittently and then shuts off again. I'm not sure what is wrong with it but it's very disappointing because the tripod construction is awesome I just wish it lit up reliably...

It keeps turning itself off so the quality is just okay. Value is meh, assembly is fine, love the remote, brightness is good, size is okay but towards the shorter side

I needed a ring light that would hold an ipad for a DIY Photo Booth I wanted to create for my daughter’s sweet sixteen. I chose this one because it seemed like it would do what I needed and the price was right. After all, this may never get used again, so I didn’t want to spend $50 or $100 or more. Also, I was a little behind schedule and this was able to arrive in a day. It arrived early, was relatively simple to assemble, functioned as advertised and the party was a success. The remote pairs with your ipad or phone via Bluetooth in ten seconds and allows you to easily snap the photo from in front of the camera. The stand is sturdy enough. Enough is the key word there. This is not a commercial stand. It stayed standing through the party with 15 teenage girls playing with it and adjusting it, kept touching the ipad while it was in the stand holder. But it stayed standing just fine. It is a little wobbly, maybe a little top heavy, but it got the job done at the right price. The light is plastic, so it would likely survive a fall or two but I’m sure the right impact would crack it. But it didn’t fall. The ipad holder kept the ipad secured. And the girls had a lot of fun cycling though all the lighting and color modes. I’ve seen other reviews that describe this as a good low-cost starter light and I would agree with that.
