If you have a set of these around you'll find uses for them. First of all they are really well made, sturdy and durable. They are very easy to use, I especially like the fact that you can tie a line to the swivel ring and it will stay put, unlike with a plain snap ring. Obviously these are better than simple hooks as they won't come off inadvertently. I really like the fact that you can just snap them on to something without having to manually open the gate. These are a great size for smaller lines and straps like dog leashes, etc. I've used them for tie down straps, support straps for pop-up canopies, and on and on. There are myriad uses for them. I wholeheartedly recommend having these around for when you will inevitably need them.

Seriously, nothing negative to say about these. I got them for...something. Honestly just got them as utility and so far have them as part of my keychain so I can quickly unclip one.Well made, no jagged edges, and the swivel is smooth.

These snap hooks are very good quality, better than I expected. They are heavier and well made. I got them to add to my small dog leash and stake out cable. The hooks work great for that and prevent the lines from twisting up and from kinking. May seem a bit pricey but the quality is there.

This is a pretty standard snap hook. If you went to the local hardware store, you would pay about the same for a similar product.The size of this hook is on the smallish side. It would be great for making a leash for a small to medium dog. The measurements in the listing are accurate.The listing says it is heavy duty. There is nothing wrong with these hooks, but I would call them medium duty. You won't use these to lift heavy objects.The finish is between good and excellent. I couldn't easily scratch it off, and it is very smooth. I think this makes them appropriate for uses like attaching a strap to a purse.The weak point for almost all snaps hooks and carabiners is the spring for the gate. I think this is true for this hook. That said, I don't think you'll have any difficulty with this hood for light to medium uses. There is a lot of play in the swivel. I don't think that will affect function or longevity. If these were for holding hundreds of pounds, that would be an issue, but the listing says these should be used for 80 pounds max.All in all, no reason not to get these. They look good and are of average quality.

These are beautifully made and finished stainless steel swivel hooks of substantial strength. The offering is self-conflicting as to how strong they actually are. The text says they have "safe load-bearing capacity up to 80 pounds," but an image says they have 80 pounds breaking strength. There is a giant difference between "safe capacity" and "breaking strength."Obviously, these swivels should never be used to support a human of any weight, and it would be a very bad idea to secure a big dog with one, but I can imagine lots of scenarios in which these would be long lasting and of ample strength.Six for $16 makes them $2.67 each, which doesn't compare well in strength to many carabineers of equal cost. But carabineers won't prevent lines from twisting and tangling. These will.
