Stainless Steel is the way to go, esp for a spit rod bushing since the repeated cycles of heat and exposure to moisture, will rust a steel bushing

Spun then spun again.The feast cooked oh so sweetly.Temps were told with ease.Note: It worked better for me with the thumbscrew portion of bushing installed so it’s inside the rim of rotisserie ring. In that position it does not interfere with lid.
