I am 5’2 and this is way too long standing up let alone sitting or kneeling. The pictures are deceptive in the way the company presents the product as being versatile in standing or sitting/kneeling … sure if you are much taller than I am. The pictures show everyone standing.

Love this concept, stand up kayaking, light, sturdy. Easy to put together, and can be tightened easily if paddles are loose. Adaptable. Worth every cent.

The main section of the paddle is a little longer than I’d like making it not universal for all heights.

I love the versatility of this paddle and it’s nice to be able to stand up paddle board while using a kayak stroke. Good quality paddle, no regrets.

Only thing it needed was the clamps tightened up to keep the blade locked in tight. I like to kayak but a two person kayak isn't as convenient as a SUP for my daughter and I. Kayaks are too large to easily transport compared to inflatable SUPs and the SUP allows us to move around vs being locked into a sitting position. So with that I found the single bladed SUP paddles to be very inconvenient and awkward with having to switch hands when switching sides. MUCH faster to have a blade on each end!! I even used a standard kayak paddle the first time and would slide the paddle to get enough length for each stroke.I even looked at the longest kayak paddles before finding this thing and even then they weren't really quite long enough. So if you like kayaking I suggest this paddle for a SUP, it's tallllll though so if you like going near low hanging trees then watch the overhead lol

2Sided has several models available - this is one of the fancier versions - the 100% carbon-shafted paddle with polycarbonate blades. It's really well made - the center tube provides a suitable grip even for my very large hands and the locking-cam adjustment clamps, once tightened properly (they're intentionally a little loose coming from the factory) are extremely secure with no hint of wobble or slide. There's a handle for those who'd like to use it single-bladed so it's an all-in-one setup for SUP, kayak or canoe. I bought it to use on a narrow surf-SUP and for that application it's just terrific both on flat water and in small surf. You can set it fairly short for nimbleness or longer for power or even really short for sitting or kneeling. At 5'10" I found the best all-around SUP length to be somewhere near 9" extension on each side for an overall length of 138" or so. I switch back and forth from a conventional grip to a thumbless grip, and really, the slight awkwardness of exerting power through a fully pronated wrist is the only challenge of the system. Otherwise, it drives the board fast and straight, provides a somewhat springy feel through the stroke (probably the carbon-blade version would be better for stronger paddlers) and is a fun core and upper-body workout. I'm very pleased and recommend the paddle highly.

We now have four double ended paddles. 2 of the original semi carbon 5 piece ones, the original carbon handle and now this upgraded one.First we never sit down unless the winds are 15mph+. My favorite is the 100% carbon handle with plastic paddles. We can paddle twice as far in the same amount of time. The paddle motion is very smooth and easy. As you finish one stroke the the front paddle will start to fall forward setting you up for the stroke, this motion requires very little effort. Unlike a kayak paddle that you hold horizontally this paddle is held vertically just as a sup paddle would be. We have found that kayaking gloves help to prevent blisters and we also added the drip rings the kayak paddles have. This newest model added back the measurement markings that the original carbon was missing. We love them and highly recommended them!
