My six-year-old daughter is very picky about her coats and jackets. She simply won’t tolerate a big puffy coat. It’s so difficult to find a warm coat that is also water resistant that does not make her feel uncomfortable. This coat is thin when it is on her, but is also very warm.

I’ve been trying to talk my 10 year old daughter into one of these jackets. I finally bought this one for her when it was on a sale and she loves it! It is lightweight but warm, which makes it easier for her to play outside and not have a bulky jacket to contend with. We live is the desert southwest so it does get cold, but we typically have lots of sunshine, this jacket is perfect for that. There are a handful of loose threads, but it’s nothing that a few snips can’t fix. It fits my 10 year old great, she has a bit of growing room and will probably be able to wear it next winter too. For those with kiddos who have long arms, this is a great purchase! The color (pink) is as pictured and exactly what my daughter wanted. We are both very happy with this purchase!

I would not think this jacket would work well for an actual ski trip. It's quite thin actually. The fit is good and it's true to size. I just would not get this if you are in very cold climates. It's ok for us as our winters are pretty mild but I did still need to purchase a heavier coat for my daughter as this won't work for the early morning bus rides in the heart of winter.
