I found these weights to perform really well in single digit mph currents. They're going to resist snagging a lot more than the conventional triangle and cannonball shapes. Durability so far has been excellent, used them on a few trips out and haven't had any issues. I do wish they were a little easier to transport as once you take them out of the included packaging the spring arms can be a little annoying to put back in - typically just leave them loose. Highly recommend if you're having snagging problems!

These are heavy and good quality! The only reason I took off a star is that usually this type of weight has a bead that fits in to keep it from closing when you feel it in. These have a deep grove that keep them out. Just personal preference.Overall they work well!

These type weights are a must-have if you serve fish. They will hold bottom easily in all type of conditions. For the most part, fish are able to break it loose from the sand when they take your bait. I only lost one weight last year due to it being stuck.

I had not tried Sputnik sinkers before but a friend kept telling me how they good they were compared to regular bank sinkers. These are great for using in any current and hold bottom well. You can use less weight with these than other sinkers because the little spines on them dig into the sand.

These are substantial sputnik weights, and are pretty big in size (5oz ones). But they will sink in sand and hold the bait even in heavy current. A must have when beach fishing with tides. The packaging is also good, it comes with the small caps that hold the spikes, makes it a lot easier to put in bags.

These sinkers work great. In both heavy and light surf conditions they worked great. If the surf is rough, they can be harder to dislodge due to sinking into the sand, but not impossible to retrieve. Locks into the sand to secure the line and releases easily when given a jerk. The 5 oz sinker I received is spot on with the weight. Weighing in at 142g which equals 5.01 oz. The carrying holder for the legs are a life saver, so no extra room in the tackle box is taken up. These sputnik sinkers help hold the bottom in heavy currents using less weight than would be required with a typical pyramid or egg sinker. I highly recommend. The item is made in China.

These will work well for fishing and crabbing in NorCal. Perfect for bait and wait and especially as supplemental weight for crab snares that have lead in them.
