It's like having power steering on your dog. No more pulling when training to walk. I only use the collar when training or taking my german shepherds into stores. I have 2 of them and it's not a problem to walk both of them at the same time in public placed.

Sprenger clicklink alleviates difficult- to- bend prongs to place and remove collar but this brand costs less than Sprenger, fits collar well, is quite sturdy and does not have an easy-to-lose plastic cover wich is prone to fall off

I was hesitant because I felt it was a bit pricey for a collar but it had good reviews and our 7 month old puppy was making walks super unpleasant and was choking himself on our old collar so I went ahead and tried it and it is worth EVERY PENNY! It immediately caused him to stop pulling and now our walks are MUCH more pleasant. Awesome training tool! It is a little bit of a learning curve to figure out how to put it on and off but we caught on pretty quickly. We did purchase a leash coupler as well so we can attach the prong collar to his normal collar when going on a walk in case the prong collar were to disconnect (which it hasn’t but just a precaution) and we just put on the prong collar when going on a walk or training as the instructions say. It is so worth it to have to put it on him every time! Best puppy purchase we have made!

Item works very well, very well made and didn’t cut into dog skin. It helped in teaching the dog not to pull, with self correction for the dog.Highly recommend. Only gripe is that it takes awhile to get used to putting it on

I got this training collar for my year old dog, who was pulling like mad dog, launching at other dogs. This collar is excellent training tool which teaches dog how to behave and walk properly. It is black stainless steel,, light, thin but very sturdy prongs ( previously I had stainless steel, also german made but was much thicker and much heavier ) so for people who think this is cruel, it is very discrete. Slight pull on dogs neck and he stops on dime, doesn't challenge and I am firm believer that this is excellent "attitude adjustment". Great quality, highly recommended.

Excelente calidad. Esta marca es la única que sirve en collares metálicos para perro. Además el acabado de este en particular es muy bonito. Se ve padrísimo en perros negros. Solo hay que tomar en cuenta que estos collares son para entrenadores profesionales o quién esté asesorado por uno.

I have been training my 9 months old doberman puppy with a martingale collar for at least 6 months. As he grows stronger every day he pretty much has been ignoring the pressure applied by the collar when he pulls or bolts to something. I wish I had started him on a prong collar sometime ago. The first moment I put on the Herm Sprenger he noticed he would not be able to ignore it. I don't yank the leash at all, and have spent good time teaching him leash pressure, but I guess he was strong enough to ignore the one applied by the martingale. Now, with the Herm Sprenger he is showing that he has learned very well how to release the leash pressure. Our walks have become much more pleasant and a time for good training and enjoyment as I do release him several times from the heeling position. My back and shoulders are so much reliefed. The black collor is a great match to his black fur and doesn't make the collar to stand out. I do recommend the product as it seems to be of great quality stainless steel. However, please make sure you use the tool as a training tool, not as a punishment one. Teach your dog how to walk on a loose leash, and fit the collar properly snug at the top part of the dog's neck.

Love the black instead of silver. Great quality. Worth spending more for this one than others. Works great as my back doesn’t hurt after walking my dog because I’m not being pulled around!

UPDATE!:Okay soooo I still believe this product works great and it’s helped A LOT with my dogs pulling, but I noticed my husky (who has an all white coat) now has a black ring around his neck when he does not have this on. I think the color of the prong collar is rubbing off on his fur. At first I thought it was dirt so I took him a bath but it didn’t come off, not with any shampoo either 😕 If you have a white dog id definitely get the regular stainless steel Just to avoid their neck getting stained. I have a 50lb husky who pulls like craaazy when we’re on walks. I’m talkin’ he’s full on army crawling and trying to pull my arm out it’s socket. I decided that a prong collar a try to train him a bit better. It’s helped a lot actually. He gets uncomfortable which is understandable, but it has prevented him pulling way too hard. It’s very durable and easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone who has a pet who pulls!

My two Herb Springer dog collars black metallic size large arrived today and I was very anxious to try them out. I have three dogs; an older black lab who I have no problem walking, and two much younger dogs slightly over a year old. The two collars are for the younger ones. One is a male Boxador (71lbs) and the other a female Foxhound/Border collie mix. The male has been using a choke chain collar and the female a harness. Previous walks have been a real struggle keeping control of both young dogs! Especially when other dogs, rabbits, and/or prairie dogs are encountered. After my Herb Springer dog collars arrived we went on our first walk. The results were absolutely amazing! Instead of the two younger dogs being out of control our walk was actually very pleasant! We passed two other dogs who previously had been a problem when it came to keeping my dogs under control. No problem at all this time and remember I'm walking another dog besides my two trouble makers. My walk was actually very pleasant which is something new for me. These collars appear to be very well made so I will add a review on durability at a later time. Right now these Herb Springer dog collars appear to be a very good investment!

First the good: The collar has worked wonders with my rescue German Shepherd Dog. He has a strong urge to chase and wanted to be out front pulling on the leash. He would be on constant alert for squirrels, rabbits and other dogs. I tried both martingale and choke chain style collars first, but corrections with these didn't phase him. When I tried the pronged collar, it was like night and day. A gentle correction was all it took, and I got the chance to praise him. After just a few minutes, he was healing like a champion. Our walks went from misery to pleasure for both of us.Now the bad: A good shake or a scratch and the links can come unhooked. Now I have a loose dog with an urge to chase. I have also read that rescue dogs sometimes get a yen to go looking for their previous people if they get loose. Fortunately, I have not seen this behavior in him.If the collar comes loose, re-hook the link and spread those tines a bit more. When it happened a second time, I knew that I needed to check all the other links. Make sure they're wide enough apart to prevent unhooking, but not too wide to decrease their effectiveness.
