This is the 5th collar that we have tried and will most likely be our last. Works exactly like it should. Yes, I highly recommend this collar to anyone who needs help encouraging their dog NOT to bark.

As slim and comfortable fit as I've found and my medium coated dog wears this collar with no trouble during the day. She used to bark furiously at passers bye, presenting a loud and somewhat intimidating front even though she's a friendly and happy dog in general. With the collar she is much more mild and stands and wags when people walk by. Only a day or two was needed for training and I think she hardly ever receives a correction anymore. Highly recommended.

These collars fixed my relationship with my dogs. Instead of yelling at them and getting frustrated with their annoying excited barking, now we can just enjoy our walks and hikes! Highly recommended! Easy to use, durable, long-lasting battery, and very effective.

Did not stop the dog from barking on any setting! Save your money!

It works, but not as well as the previous version. Not as adjustable or as functional. Truly disappointed in it for the price point.

We’ve struggled with our dog’s excessive barking for so long, and after trying multiple other collars (none of which worked), we were skeptical that this one would make a difference.Well, we were wrong—this collar worked almost immediately! Within just one week, using level 4, our dog’s barking has gone down an unbelievable 99%. It’s like we have a completely different dog! The results are beyond anything we expected.The collar is easy to use, effective, and humane—it simply got our dog’s attention and corrected the behavior without causing any distress. For the first time in ages, we can enjoy peace and quiet, and our dog seems calmer and happier overall.If you’re on the fence, get this collar now. I’ve never written a review for a product before, but this one truly deserved it. It’s a game-changer! Unreal!

This product doesn’t work… at all! I have tried every possible setting, every strength, even the highest, but my dog doesn’t even notice a thing. The tester shows it works, but I think the highest shock must be too low. I purchased a different brand for $30 on Amazon that works like a charm! I had really hoped this would work since it’s so expensive and since the brand is marketed towards hunting dogs… but I wouldn’t recommend this product at all! Save your money and try one of the cheap ones first!

The collars definitely do the job and has dramatically reduced the barking from our 2 Brittany's that are laser focused on squirrels. I wish they had an option for vibrate/tone on the collar. We did have them occasionally going off from other vibrations (might have been set too sensitive), they actually sent 2 brand new collars, but 1 would not turn on - so they are sending another replacement. Their Customer Service has been awesome. I chose SD as I use their E-Collars and have a lot of respect for the brand. Honestly did not trust some of the "off brands" with our dogs.

A friend recommended this collar when I asked what she used. My poodle loves to sit out front on a long lead, which gives her lots of room to to enjoy our front yard. But she gets so excited when she sees her friends, and I didn't like that many of her outdoor times ended with me having to bring her in due to barking. Also, I like my neighbours!After I got this delivered I made sure to carefully review use and sizing. It took about 3 separate trips outside for her to figure it out, and I don't think it ever got past level 2 of the 10 levels. Now she is quiet outside but still happily greets her friends with a waving tail.I make sure she is always monitored so she doesn't feel she needs to bark - I come right to door if she's waiting there or if she winds her lead around anything.Amazingly when she wants to go out and sees me pick up the collar she comes over and waits with her tail wagging as I put it on. So I feel reassured that it isn't painful, and she's just happy to be going outside.

I have a large 10 month old Maremma/Akbash puppy who loves to bark at everything and nothing, given the chance. This non-stop, rapid fire barking was waking people up in the mornings and keeping them up at night, totally unacceptable behavior! I saw a very good review of the Sportdog collar on YouTube and decided to give it a try for around $135 Canadian dollars. Once the collar was on, he barked, then yipped a few times due to the correction stimulus, and then......blessed silence. He challenged the system a little the next day or two, but decided it wasn't worth it and he has been quiet ever since. He is also calmer and less agressive overall. We are VERY PLEASED with this product. (I put the collar on and off several times a day, and only use it when he is likely to bark.) The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is that it is a little annoying to attach to his neck, you have find the correct hole and thread the little metal clasp each time. I prefer the kind that you adjust to size once, then just clip it in. But don't let that stop you, this is a very effective product, and I have tried several other bark collar brands in the past that did not work on larger dogs.

We use a lot of positive reinforcement in our house, but despite that our young, well-socialized, friendly Great Dane (who has a trick title and his CGC) had a talking problem.He was good overall but required constant management to prevent him from launching into a barking fit. Anytime the doorbell went off, I had to jump up and start redirecting. When the neighbors were petsitting a super barky dog? Redirect. A Squirrel taunting him from a tree? Redirect. Flea sneezing 3 miles away? Redirect. I spent a lot of time addressing this by encouraging him to turn away from triggers, to watch the world go by, and to stop barking when I said 'enough'. He gets more physical and mental enrichment than most pet dogs so no, not bored. Just...NOISY. He's always been a talker.He is a BIG dog with a BIG bark and at some point, with a dog like this, you literally just have to tell the dog NO. Sometimes, saying NO is more humane than continuing the frustrating and ongoing process of redirecting and constantly managing things.Barking fits cause dogs a lot of undue stress and anxiety. For a confident otherwise happy dog that knows what to do instead, and has been offered tons of training and enrichment, there is NOTHING wrong with eliminating nuisance barking with a tool like this. By telling him NO, the fits went away and he's much happier and calmer. He still runs to see what the 'fuss' is when the neighbor dog barks or his squirrel friend is in the tree, so he still gets to be a dog, he just has to be quiet about it.We chose the Sportdog because we wanted it to provide a different sensation than he receives from his E-Collar Tech e-collar (which we use at low levels for off-leash recall). I wanted to buy a reliable tool that would work, and not correct him for the wrong things at the wrong time.Cheap tools create superstitious, confused, and anxious dogs who may even ignore the correction because they aren't reliable! We didn't put all this training work into this dog to ruin him with unfair corrections. The timing has to be impeccable.The collar was so easy to set up. I used the default/factory settings. If I have one complaint it's that it was tricky to figure out how to seat the charger correctly onto the device.He wore the Sportdog bark collar for one day and was corrected twice. The first time he was REALLY surprised, yelped, and went to lay down immediately. I felt bad because we don't use a lot of sharp, deliberate corrections in our house. The second time he had a lightbulb moment.He's been quiet ever since, and I'm not even good about putting the collar on him. It was a one-and-done thing. I like that it ONLY corrected him for real barks and clearly issued the correction IMMEDIATELY. Not for oofing and boofing. Two corrections helped him get over this 'hump', connect the dots, and chill out.Worth every penny. He's SO much happier. I'm so much happier. The neighbors are so much happier! I call this a win-win.
