My toddler attends an outdoor forest preschool - these pants have held up super well to the running, jumping, climbing trees etc. Never complained about being too hot, clothes stay very dry underneath as we play in rivers and mud.3T fit perfectly, toddler is currently 4 and still wears them ( toddler is on the shorter side)

We love these rain pants. My son is 2yrs old, 25 lbs and a little smaller than most 2 yr olds these fit him well with room to grow. They are only a bit long but fit everywhere else. I'm ok with the length as it gives us more time to use them as he grows. These pants so far have been water resistant for our little puddle jumper. If your on the fence just buy them you wont be sorry!

We have been using these pants for months now and the water stays out! It’s is great for when playground is wet, but also for nature walks when the ground is still wet and your little one is learning to walk and will sometimes fall sitting down. These pants have saved us cutting our excursions short due to wet clothes one too many times. They are longer in the legs, but do not go up too high on the waist. Got these when my kid was 12 months. She is now 17 and it seems like we will be using these pants till 2 years old +. She is a normal sized little girl.

I own a small family childcare and preschool and purchased these in various sizes for all of my students. The kids wear them during outside play when it is wet, muddy, or raining, so most of the spring, summer, and fall. I would get the next size bigger than your child currently wears in your typical tag sizing. For example, for the 2 year-olds wearing 2T clothing, I purchased 3T splashy pants. They didn't need to size up until they were growing into 5T clothing. Then I moved them to the size 4 (not 4T) splashy pants. After about a year and a half, the bottom seams started coming undone, but it had been so worth the money spent. I have bought replacements and would do it again! Not worrying about changing clothes when we came inside or how messy the kids played outside was such a stress reliever and time saver. To ensure the inner clothes stay dry, do not tuck in their top...the water will seep in that way. Definitely have the kids wear rain boots with them and pull them over the top of the boots. We have had so much fun playing in the rain and jumping in muddy puddles and just letting the kids be kids. If you are buying them for a classroom like I did, I suggest color coding by size...buy each size in a different color for ease of identification. The loop on the waistband is also a huge help with the kids being able to hang them to dry.

I have a 1y7m old boy, who's rather tall and normally wears 2T. Material is great quality, sealed seams, love the reflective trim on the side. These pants are definitely on the large side, but you'd expect that considering they are supposed to go over the clothing, especially in winter. I read the reviews, yet decided not to go a size smaller and i'm happy with the decision. Kids grow up so fast, that i see no reason buying certain garments that my son would outgrow in months. Thanks to the strong elastic bands, i can just roll up the pants couple of times and they fit just fine without my son being uncomfortable. I tried that already and he just went on doing his thing. Didn't bother him. So that works for us. First photo is with Carters 2T pants on top. Carters usually runs small for us, so the second photo is with another pair of pants in size 2T. Inseam length of Splashy pants in 2T size is 16 1/2". Hope this helps some of you when deciding on the size.

My two year old is middle of the road in the size department. After reading reviews that said these pants ran large I decided to take a chance and order regardless as I wanted them as a last layer to keep his warm layers dry. He is an outdoor kid and plays HARD. Puddles, creeks, mud. For hours,.... only stopping because he gets cold from being wet. These pants were the answer!!! They do run large (he is just getting into 24 month bottoms and I ordered 2t) but the elastic is tight and secure enough that they stay put in all the necessary places. He played for over an hour in shin deep cold creek water this morning and when we got inside his inner layers were just a touch wet,... from the water making its way in between his rain boots and the ridges of the elastic (I pulled pants down over the boots) I am also a frugal mom so for me the price was right and I'm positive that he will be able to wear them again come fall as needed

I ordered these to match a Pikachu hoodie for my son's Halloween costume, reasoning that he could get more wear out of two separate pieces. These are a bright yellow with no weird fit issues in the front as described by other reviewers, and quality seems good. He has yet to test them out in rainy conditions, but they washed well after several rounds of trick-or-treating. My review is more to clarify regarding size--my son is a tall 6 year old who currently wears size 6 pants, but he is turning 7 soon and he tends to hit big growth spurts. Based on other reviews stating that these ran large, I bought him a size 5/6 hoping that he would get at least a year or two out of them to justify the price. However, I found that the size 5/6 fit EXACTLY as other brands fit on him (think Kohl's, Children's Place, Walmart, etc.). So contrary to other reviewers, I would say these fit as expected. Perhaps there is a difference between the way the little kids and toddlers sizes are manufactured? Either way, something to take into consideration, depending on the fit that you want.

They are rain pants, they work, are well constructed. But my god - I I bought the 18-24 month ones and these fit my FOUR YEAR OLD. And he usually wears 4-5T, he's big. I gave these to him, and passed down his smaller 2T ones to his younger sister. Size WAY DOWN if you want these to actually fit your child. They would have been up to my 20 month old's eyeballs.
