Just installed this gasket today. Purchased from Rock Auto a few months ago. I cleaned up the mating surfaces on both the differential housing and cover extremely well to ensure best gasket seat. No leaks so far. Will check on it regularly and report back if I see any long term seepage.Details: After removing the cover, I cleaned out the oil in the bottom of the housing with rags and then covered the exposed gears with a towel. I removed the majority of OEM rtv gasket material on both housing and cover using a plastic scraper and (very carefully) a razor scraper. I then used WD40 to soften all remaining OEM RTV gasket material and gently scrubbed all mating surfaces with a green nylon scrub pad. Once all the old RTV gasket material was removed, I used a 220 grit sandpaper to smooth any sharp surface imperfections around the outer edges and bolt holes. I then sprayed the mating surfaces (and inside of cover) with brake cleaner to remove all remaining oil and debris. At the same time, I soaked the bolts in mineral spirits, brushed them clean with a steel brush, and used brake cleaner to remove the mineral spirits. Everything seemed to be perfectly clean before reassembly.
