Anyone who does woodworking understands the problem of dust and chips all over the place, and this is more true with routing than with any other piece of equipment. This "skirt" contains all that flying debris and the additional fitting allows it to be sucked up into the 2 1/2" dust port. This thing fits the rails just right, and the smoothness of motion within the rails guarantees that there will be no stops and starts during its range, as you might find on other router sleds. SpeTool makes other solid products as well, and I'll get those as budget allows. I'm sold!

Easy assembly but doen not work with the router sled it claims to, paid 500 for router sled, router, and this collector, all claiming to work together and none of them are compatable with any of them, can't return because came in 100 pieces and boxes were destroyed in proces of building them, out 500$

So dust collection wasnt really what it does. Dust corralling was more like it. The brushes helped to consolidate or corral the dust and such until such a time as I could vacuum it up with my collection system. I will say without the collector the dust went everywhere, so I found value in the use of it.Another downside is it doesnt fit anything or any of my collector adapters. Basically duct taped the collection hose to the inlet until I can get to Lowes and find something that fits the exit port.

The sled itself is well put together and solid. The brushed do a decent job of holding the vacuum pressure to clean up most debris. I am using this on a custom built sled frame and it works pretty well. The vacuum connector is obviously 3d printed, but it works well to attach a hose to. The acrylic sled plate is nice and this and doesn't bow at all with the weight of the router.

With side brushes on, can’t get full trawl of rails. Brushes hit before they should.

This was easy to assemble and works great so far.I don't have a "router sled", but this beauty rides on a DIY sled.I went budget making the sled. 3/4" MDF, two 4" PVC pipes mounted on opposite sides, and two T-bolt channels held parallel on the ends with metal brackets. The channels are perpendicular to the PVC pipes. This shroud sits right in between the rails and moves smoothly side to side. The rails slide on the pipes and the whole thing works great. If I had a "real sled" I imagine it would work a little better, but what I have does the job.The vacuum hose connects to the sled and the brushes help keep the dust down. I did have to drill new holes in order to mount my router. That is on the router base and no reflection of this product. (I'm using a trim router and it is designed for full-size routers.)Easy to assemble and works well.Great product.

The router base is sloppy enough in the slide assembly that it caused the bit to cut out of perpendicular with the frame/workpiece. Had to shim the one end about 10 mils to get the cuts to be flat on adjacent passes. Had to use an extension on the router bit to reach the workpiece.Otherwise it does a good job.
