I didn’t know that speedball made glazes and decided to try it out. This color is pretty consistent in terms of firing. I haven’t found it to run excessively even when I do drips on the edges. It reacts well on top of other glazes and the color is gorgeous. I’d like to try out a few more colors in the future!

I'm very pleased with how this glaze turned out on my pieces. It has a gorgeous yellow shimmery highlight that looks amazing on white stoneware. I make organic, irregular pieces, and any faulty/rough areas from the glaze looked like they were on purpose. I did two light coats and fired at cone 6. Definitely recommend and I can't wait to try the other available colors.

I tend to be drawn to bright and bold glazes for my pottery, but I really liked the test tile sample of what I saw for this glaze. I have only used it once on a sponge holder to test it out and it was alright. Not mind blowing and a little matte for my taste so I might try lighter layers next time and two layers instead of three, but that's the mad science of glazing is figuring all of that out.. But I know everyone has a different preferences for things so I'm sure it has a person out there that will like the color and give the piece I use this on a good home.

Nothing wrong with the item itself but this is the second glaze I have ordered from Amazon that arrived leaking with the lid askew.

So unfortunately the clay piece I fired to test this glaze was not suited for a higher fire and melted….hopefully you can still make out the glaze though! I got the champagne quartz color and it gives your pieces a really pretty, almost iridescent finish. It can also be layered with other colors underneath to give them a nice shimmer. According to the bottle this glaze is food safe! Speedball is always a pretty good brand for ceramics, so I was happy to be able to test this glaze out!
