The unit looks great and was easy to install. I did watch a YouTube video though. I had to reroute my windshield washer hose. When I would close the hood, the heat shield pinched the hose causing it not to work. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it.

This intake is great but the directions are terrible and out right wrong in some steps so I have included picts of the mounting spots in your 5.7 tundra. If you have any kind of mechanical experience this is an easy install. This is the 2nd after market intake I've had in my truck and this is defiantly an upgrade at half the price of brands such as K&N or Injen which is what I had. The plumbing on this unit is wider in diameter and less restrictive which pairs nicely with the heat shield which luckily worked with my after market hood. I will say the elbow on my Injen was powder coated steel and the elbows on this seem to be a lighter aluminum but given the purpose it doesn't affect the performance. To put things in perspective I do have true duel exhaust on my truck and the Injen unit did help with a deeper "throaty" sound and performance but this intake from spectre is a step up for sure. I hope the picts help!

I installed this intake on my 2010 Tundra double cab 5.7 flex fuel. It went on quickly and easily. I paired it with a dual exhaust system and have noticed a considerable power increase that made my old truck a lot more fun to drive. The pair also increased my gas mileage by 3 mpg on the first tank, probably more if I kept my foot out of it.

I purchased this product used and it was rated as good but I figured for $80 it couldn't hurt to try it out and if it was that bad I would just send it back. The only thing i would say was used was the box because the actual CAI came in excellent condition. The air filter was in original packaging, all tubing and rubber attachments were still wrapped. Now putting this thing together was about a 2/10 difficulty but actually reading the instructions was probably 5/10 because the instructions show pictures but they are kinda granny and you need to actually know how an engine works because in the instructions you need to switch two vacuum tubes and if you are unfamiliar with an engine you might think the instructions are incorrect. The only real beefs I had with any of the parts was that in the original instructions in came with a vacuum tube to replace a shorter tube but unfortunately the tube they provided was WAY too short so I had to use the two original hoses and manipulate them to fit but in the end everything fit and all the hoses were attached to the proper location. Now one other, I mean very small, issue was already stated in one of the previous reviews was that the actual air filter fit onto the air intake loosely and would not stay on so like he did I just wrapped it in electrical tape to make the tube a little thicker and that alleviated the problem. Now my last issue was that the kit should have had one more screw to attach the heat shield to the windshield washer fluid hole because the original was too short so I used the steering fluid screw to attach the heat shield and I just went to the dealership and got a new one for the steering fluid overflow. All in all this is a great product that sounds NASTY and will make your Tundra run more smoothly and for $80 this is the best product i have put on my Tundra for the price and ease of instillation.

The quality of the kit is great. Although I do think they need to update their instructions, while they weren't difficult to follow (this was not my first intake install though) the instructions referrenced 4 bolts for attaching the velocity stack to the heat shield. While the heat shield had the holes for the 4 screws, the velocity stack did not, and there were no screws included for that step either. It installed just fine without those 4 screws though which leads me to believe they updated their design, but not their instructions. One thing that was happening though, was the filter would barely slip off the other end of the velocity stack. Realizing that the velocity stack is pretty slippery, we wrapped electrical tape around it and clamped the filter back onto it. Problem fixed. It just needed a little extra grip. We're already seeing an increase in mpgs on our Tundra, as well as response in the throttle. And the sound the intake makes is great. I wish it was louder, but that is all a matter of personal opinion.
