Had to grind the radius on the water pump end a little for clearance. Made the 56" belt work with the new alternator. Happy with my cheap diy conversion kit for my 57 283.

This product does exactly what you need it to for a great price. I actually bought it for a stock car that has the short water pump (I needed a bracket such as this for clearance concerns ). Modifying the bracket to fit was easy- just note you will need to drill an additional hole into the bracket. It is pretty thick metal and I have no concerns regarding it’s longevity.

I bought this to install a new alternator on my boat engine. I had to modify it to make it work (which I was expecting. ) I do wish it was made of 5/16" or 3/8" steel instead of 1/4" for extra strength. Otherwise this item worked as I expected.

Very poor chrome finish, triple chrome plating? I doubt it, looks more like brushed steel, you can't even get a decent reflection off it, but the metal itself is hard, I had to cut it down a bit and it took awhile to get thru it with my Sawzall. The caps you get with it are a nice touch, too bad the chrome was so bad. If you're looking for a nice chrome bracket to help highlight your engine then this isn't the one buy.

Got this to complete my 12v conversion of a 1952 Ford 8N tractor. Had to add a hole to make it work but it did the job and looks great.
